You can’t believe it.
Everyone remembered you as an anthro lion?
You drop your phone on to the ground as you fall to your knees in disbelief. Your weight makes a heavy sound that ricochets throughout your room but you don’t even notice. You’re already lost in your thoughts.
When you went to the magic shop you were hoping to find an item that could change your life by transforming you. But only a simple characteristic like making you taller or more muscular. Not this!
Sure it had transformed you but nearly everything had changed. Not only had you changed physically in many ways but you weren’t even the same species anymore.
Gone was the past you had as a human. With everyone’s memories altered, they could only remember you as a lion instead of your old self.
You can’t help but find it all a bit tragic and depressing as you realize that not a single person would remember you were once human. Not your neighbors. Not your roommate. Not even your family.
“Hey what was that noise?” Franks asks you as he wanders into your bedroom. He sees you kneeling on the ground and notices you look troubled but you don’t pay him any attention, you’re too sad to respond.
Seeing how odd you had been acting earlier and your current behavior, Frank concludes only one possible answer.
“Is this about your birthday?” he questions you with an amused expression.
You turn to him in confusion. What was he talking about? Couldn’t he see that this went beyond birthday blues? In fact it might go down as the worst birthday in your life.
“Listen. I know you turned eighteen today and that you probably feel confused knowing you’re now an adult but the world’s not going to end. It’s just a change in life,” Frank comforts you.
“He has no idea…” you think to yourself. Your life has changed alright. But beyond those of becoming an adult. More as in becoming a giant beefy anthro lion.
Wait.
You mean a giant beefy ADULT anthro lion.
You chuckle to yourself, a deep and rich laugh escaping from your throat.
“Do you feel better now?” Frank asks you, noticing your sudden laughter.
“Yeah I guess. It’s just… I have a lot to think about. I kinda want to be alone for a bit,” you tell him.
It was true. You did feel a bit better after laughing and your roommate’s attempts to console you did lift your spirits a little.
“Ok I’ll be in the bathroom if you need me,” he says before exiting.
Frank leaves you alone in your room, still kneeling on the floor. It takes you a few seconds to realize what he said.
