"Emma, could you go get Jeff's leash? I can't remember where I put it." Jamie assumed they would have one. But she was too surprised to see her little girl all grown up now.
Emma truly had changed since they had seen her earlier that day. The pink top hugged her chest beautifully. The only other thing more surprising than her full chest was her toned arms. Jeff had tried to work out, but he always got distracted. It was one of the things he wanted to use the Chronivac Machine for. Emma kept her long dark blonde hair in a ponytail. Metal pins of bands and cartoons decorated her faded blue jeans.
"Yea its right in the kitchen." Emma made here way past her mom and, unknown to her, brother. The pair watched her from the entry way. "Oh, mom want me to put these away for ya?"
Jamie blinked, she didn't realize she'd been starting at her daughter. "T-these what?"
"The groceries." Emma called back.
"Oh right. Yes, please honey. I think I've been a bit distracted today."
Emma gave her mom a thumbs up before emptying each bag.
Jamie shook her head. "W-what happened?" She looked down to Jeff. The new German Shepard was still watching Emma.
Jeff let out a series of soft barks. "I...I guess since I've always been a dog, or whatever, that would make Emma the first born child now. I guess?"
His mother shrugged. "That makes as much sense as, well I don't really know right now." She gave a sigh. "I missed so many of her birthdays." She felt a bump against her leg. Jeff was rubbing his canine head against her.
"You didn't miss anything mom. We can always use the machine to go back and change things to the way things were before, ya know?"
He watched her rub one of her eyes. 'Was she crying?' Jeff thought.
"You're right. We should enjoy this day for now." She gave Jeff a scratch behind the ears. "She is beautiful now though."
"Yea, no kidding!" Jeff made a sound something like a pant and a whimper.
"You ok honey?" Jamie kneed down in front of the German Shepherd.
He had intended to chuckle, but it seems that's something dogs couldn't do. He'd never thought about that before. That would make small things difficult. "Yea, I'm good. Just still learning about this new body." Jeff's attention turned to his sister joining them.
Emma held a red retractable leash. "Alright, ready for that walk?"
Instinctively Jeff barked. He could feel his tail wagging furiously. He didn't even try to make that happen.
Jamie giggled. "Oh Jeff, I love you so much!"
Her new dog barked. "You too mom."
Jamie gave her daughter a large hug. "And you as well, honey. You look so wonderful."
"Hehe, thanks mom. You're not so bad yourself." She leaned down to clip Jeff's leash on. "Ready to go guys?"
