As Damon was getting used to his new life as a sow, a new quite horrible life, all things considered, John was bought and off to learn how to adjust to his. After Chris was bought by the warlock, someone knocked on the door a few hours afterwards so as to purchase John. He had started dozing off in his frog sleep, as the witch busied herself with other things in another room. John got bored and even wondered how frogs didn't go crazy from boredom. Of course, he assumed normal frogs got a pond, friends, food and enough space to hop around. That must make things more interesting. Not to mention escaping all sorts of predators. So he fell asleep, dreaming of big fat flies and lily pads to hop on, as well as a big pond to keep his skin nice and moist. When he was startled out of his sleep upon hearing the knocks, he did wonder if he had dreamt that because of his shock at being a frog now, or if his brain was starting to think like that of a frog's, the latter of which was the most frightening by far. The witch hurried and to John's surprise, it was not a witch. On the contrary, it was a man again. But a man with a top wizard hat and robes that characteristically resembled bathrobes. His was decorated with all manners of animals and creatures. He held a bag and saluted the witch politely. He introduced himself, along with his job: owning a zoo of magical creatures, also reserved for breeding sometimes. He said he was interested in her frog to add, once he'd transformed him further. Zoo? Breeding? More transformations? John didn't like where this was going...
"You understand, a nasty burglar would bring me less guilt if he's thrust in doing humiliating tricks or having to go through a rather unpleasant life."
"Perfectly understandable," nodded the witch as she stirred her cup of coffee. "Any ideas for that dirty delinquent?"
"Oh, a few. I'll decide later. So how much do you want for him?"
They discussed John's value, the zookeeper paid - outrageously low, according to John's opinions - and he put John's jar into his bag, after glancing briefly at his new acquisition. Apparently, John was good enough for him. He left with a farewell and thanks, leaving the witch behind.
"Do your worst to him!" she cackled as a goodbye to John.
"I'll keep this in mind, good lady," said the man with a tiny smile.
John wondered if being a frog would not soon seem like a great thing. What a frightening notion...
