“I'm sorry Tony, I can't have you up-end your entire life for me and I feel a need to help Ryker. Please, will you help me?”
Tony looks back at me, first with concern then slowly that frown changes to a smirk. Pouncing on me, knocking me onto the bed. “If I help you, you will owe me one favor” he says seductively.
My face grows flustered, “Of course, anything. Well maybe not anything…”
“Anything” Tony interjects, throwing me my discarded clothes from last night. "I thought of something from your dream that might help, no need for armor we need to get to the church before it gets busy."
Skipping breakfast, the two of us found our way to a small church/temple in the town circle. Tony led the way inside, the building wasn't grand like church in Rykers mind but, still this place radiated a sense of peace and comfort. A wash of blues and greens the building was home to two statues of two different goddesses on was the familiar mermaid the other, another humanoid that looked like a fairy. Humanoid except for the two delicate butterfly wings extending from its back.
Tony looks at the statues then at me. “Hey, I'm not a religious person but I need to ask you're not a secret god, right? Cause you kind of look like the goddesses you know when you're not possessing someone.”
The question makes me laugh a little, “Why kitty worried you might have bitten off more than they could chew?” Shaking my apparently celestial butt at Tony as I walked towards the statues.
Tony rolls his eyes, “Never mind, I forgot who I was talking to.” Catching up with me Tony looks around spotting something he disappears only to return with a little goat man Cleric in tow.
“Ryker, I'd like to introduce you to Father Morre.”
“Why hello they sunny.” Morre reaches out with one hand and uses the other to stroke his goatee.
“Hello sir” I greet the older gentleman giving his outstretched hand a firm shake. Though honestly my current form might be of similar age to him. Post introduction I look over at Tony confused on what exactly his plan is. Before I could ask Father Morre begins to speak.
“Thank you for coming Cleric Ryker I was informed by you friend Tony that you might be able to help me with an issue my church seems to be having.”
Even more confused I look back at Tony. Tony smiles back answering the goat.
“We're happy to help, but I just want to clarify. I believe your request to the guild mentioned a portion of purification, is that still the reward for completion of the quest?”
“Yes, that is correct. You two will be taking on my quest then?”
“Yes sir!” Tony responds enthusiastically.
*Cut back to Tony's Room*
“Potion of Purification?” I ask Tony as I slowly put on my heavy equipment. Tony already dressed in his own equipment starts to help me dress. “Yep, saw a quest last week for ghost removal, the reward a Potion of Purification and 20 silver. I wanted to take it, but I can't remove a ghost, I read the Potion can be used to purify darkness and curses from a soul, I've been searching for a Potion like that for years.” While I can't see Tony as he tightens straps near my back, I can hear the longing in his voice but very quickly its replaced. “But you, Ryker, are a Cleric and clerics should be able to remove a ghost or two” Tony now faces me giving me a wide grin.
“Okay small issue, I've never used someone else's magic before.”
“That's fine we have until nightfall anyway, you better start practicing.”
“Fine…”
I begin trying to use Ryker's magic starting with his memories I learn the basic information on how his casting works. The endeavor took most of the day and ate into the night, Tony lovingly brought me food and drinks standing by my side as I figured this out.
