Your name is Stanley, your life hadn't been going the best, and now here you are because of a job offer. the fine print saying "The last place you'll ever need to be..." You are in a small waiting room with only one other person inside. Some small woman seemingly in all ways. Perhaps her personality was big or something, but you both keep to yourselves as you just wait in this room with just a few chairs, a table, a few magazines of complete drivel, and a big red button on a wall. You both wait in the room for awhile as you remember your days as a happy kid just playing around, doing average at school, eventually alienating your friends, sequestering yourself away, and well here you are in this room where... you did enter through a door right? You remember entering through a door and as the text describing the room a few sentences ago described there were chairs, a table, magazines, a big red button... no doors.
"There were doors here right?" You asked the woman
She looked around and then looked around and a little panicked said "Yeah..." she went to the wall she thought the door she entered from was and tried feeling the wall. You went up and knocked a bit on the wall and it felt really solid everywhere. The red button on the wall is a real solid presence. Obscenely large the button just screams "Something will happen if you press me", you assumed some sort of alarm... and in this situation an alarm is something you two may want.
"What do you think will happen if we press the button?" You asked
The woman put her hands on her hips and said "Someone will come, or an alarm will happen probably. That'll let us GET OUT. Seriously being jobless and homeless is better than starving in here!" She then walks up to the button, slams her palm down an- There was just a short time left for anything to process. The walls close in, and then you and the woman get closer and closer. Extremely intimate as you are irresistibly pushed towards her. There is not enough time for your nerves to tell your brain anything, but you the woman, and the room have now become inseparably one.
Your name is Stanley, your life hadn't been going the best... Now here you were on the side of a bus stop in the middle of no where. There were clouds in the sky, the sun was pleasantly warm with a gentle breeze, the bus stop has benches and plenty of shade if you'd need it, there was a fellow homeless woman at the bus stop, and there was a big red button on a pole... Was there any signs of civilization for miles? No. Was there even a road described? No, this is a bus stop without a road beside it. You remember your days as a kid, failing through classes, dropping out, becoming homeless... Your consciousness rejoins your body as you sprint to the homeless lady who looked small and asked "Wait, did we just live another life?" Your voice felt a little hoarse, your gut felt a little empty, and your body felt weary, but you were still alive.
"I'm not sure... maybe?" The woman responded
"Think that homeless comment made us homeless?"
"No, I think that cheating bastard that threw me out of our home made me homeless..." she said bitterly
"Yeah, like my bad grades but you know what I mean right? You remember our last life?" She nodded
You then look at the button and say "...Think we're going to die if we press the button again?" she nods "Have anything you'd like to be in the next life?" She shakes her head no "Well... Mind if I gave it a shot?"
"Not now... I think I need to digest what happened for a bit..." It takes awhile and the sun never moves from the sky. you two never become hungry, tired, and then the woman says "Alright... I think I'm ready."
You approach the button and utter some words before pressing it...
