The store was called Magic. That was its name but most people thought it was just an ordinary variety store. It had aisles for a wide variety of different things: a hygiene aisle, a seasonal aisle, a tool aisle, a stationery aisle, a pet supplies aisle, a toy aisle, a household cleaners aisle, a small clothing section and a small furniture section among other aisles and sections. There were rumors floating around that some of the items for sale were magical but there were also plenty of stories where someone bought something believing a rumor that it was magical, only to find out it was just an ordinary item.
The staff at the store were ordinary people that you might see out and about at other locations such as at school or at fast food restaurants. There was no mysterious store owner. The products they sold came in on ordinary trucks just like what would happen at any ordinary variety store. People had searched all over the store looking for clues about the magic but couldn't find anything out of the ordinary about the store.
The prices were pretty good. They weren't the cheapest place in town. They weren't a thrift store or a dollar store but Magic was a good store to go to when looking for a variety of items at good prices.
Magic had been in business for twelve years now and all suggestions of magic remained just rumors. People shopped there all the time picking up all kinds of items from toothbrushes to coffee tables and no single incident of magic had ever come to light. There were also no mysterious disappearances or unsolved crimes linked to the store. Everything about the store just seemed so ordinary.
