((Author’s Note: sorry about the discrepancy with Miranda’s sexuality with her parents, I completely forgot that she already came out sorry.
I’m confused by the last chapter. (I hope it was just a mistake calling Melissa “Missy” because her daughter is 16 so….) ))
Nat was confused and upset at the news that their school had gotten a new principal and with him a new set of rules and changes, mainly the implementation of school uniforms.
Both boys and girls were now required to wear white shirts with green and blue ties and dark green jackets, the boys wore front pleated khakis with black dress shoes while girls had to wear a green pleated plaid skirt with black Mary Jane’s.
After getting changed into her new school uniform she walked down the stairs and asked her mom about the new changes.
“I was surprised too, this new principal, or Headmaster as he likes to be called, seems very old fashioned. But don’t worry sweetie, you’re in the same boat as the other students. Just let me do your hair, I don’t want you to make a bad impression on him. The last principal and you didn’t get along, I don’t want it to be the same with Headmaster Helman. Marisa said.
Nat relented and allowed her mother to pull the dampire’s red hair into a tight low ponytail.
“This sucks.” Nat grumbled as she walked out the door.
On her way to school she met up with Rei, who also was stuffed into the same school uniform, her hair was even in braided pigtails.
“My mom said she wanted to do my hair like she had when she was in school.” Rei replied knowing her girlfriend was too nice to bring up her stupid new hairstyle.
“Maybe we should investigate this Headmaster Helman guy. What do you think the chances are that he’s some demon and we can just kill him?” A boy’s voice asked.
The two girls looked to see Miranda and Miles walk with them, they too were in uniform as well, Miranda nervously tugging at the hem of her skirt.
“Where’s Amara?” Nat asked.
“S-she uh… she said she rather swim in a frozen lake than wear one of t-these.” Miranda replied looking down, clearly uncomfortable not having her hair to cover her face. Instead it was in a tight braid.
“Anyone would if they looked as bad in them as you losers do.” Vicky laughed.
Missy and Vicky walked past them and the group could see that they both had rolled up their skirts and each had high ponytails, their uniforms appeared more tailored to their figures. Nobody noticed Missy give Miranda an apologetic look, it was clear she hadn’t told Vicky or anyone else about what happened over the short holiday break. She feigned a laugh with the other popular girl and continued their walk to school.
Missy’s mom had been distracted and distant ever since they got back from vacation, although she had been like that ever since they went to see the private investigator. That all seemed like ages ago, a lot has changed and so had she.
“Ignore them, let’s meet up with Darren and the others at school. We should focus on making plans on the Normal and stuff.” Miles said.
