Returning after Thanksgiving, Spark and Connor sighed as they pulled into the parking lot. Why did holidays always pass so quickly?
The pair had enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving. The entire Moreland family had been present with even a surprise visit from Jacob's Boss Sarah McMillan. Needless to say, Spark had a bit of fun at the womans expense. Now though it was back to the grind, school work, Christmas, and any matters regarding the Normal lay ahead, meaning the quiet they so enjoyed would soon be over. Idly chatting with their friends, the group exchanged stories of their holidays. Only to be interrupted by someone from school.
"Hey guys how was Thanksgiving?"
The group turned, noticing Deacon Wallace. Deacon was a nice enough guy, his older sister a cheerleader in their grade. Miles and Connor knew the Freshman pretty well, the teenage boy being in band with Miles. What surprised them though was the pretty red haired girl by his side. "What's up Deacon," Miles exclaimed, high firing the teenage boy. "Who's your friend?"
"Sup Miles," he replied. "Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. This is Star, she says she knows Spark." The group paused, the name seemed familiar but they couldn't quite put their finger on it. It was Spark though who furrowed her brow at the girl, quickly grabbing her hand and pulling her towards a bathroom. "Be right back gotta pee!"
Pulling the girl into the bathroom,Spark practically tossed her across the room. Star stumbling before glaring at her sister. "What the hell Spark!?"
"What are you doing her Starlight," Spark hissed. "Are mom and dad alright? Did something happen to Queen Glitter? What the hell are you doing here!?"
"Geez will you relax," Star scoffed. "Its nothing that crazy. I just came to visit, that's when I met Deacon. Isn't he a sweetheart?" Spark gaped, watching her usually older sister sigh dreamily over the teenage boy. As insane as it sounded, it appeared Star was forming a crush. "No way!"
"What?"
"You like him," Spark exclaimed. "Like, like him, like him!"
"Deacon is a nice guy," Star countered. "And he's really good at playing guitar. Oh my god Spark have you heard him play? He's amazing!"
"Yeah I've heard him," Spark stated. Grabbing her sister by the shoulders, she now stared directly into her eyes. Star at first confused. "Did you dance with him?"
"What no," Star exclaimed. "But even if I did so what? You danced with Connor, are you worried about me looking your age or being cooler than you are?" Spark now burst into laughter, causing the auburn haired teen to frown. "What's so funny?"
"You have no idea do you?"
"What," Star exclaimed. "Deacon told me his sister has been trying to get you to join the cheerleaders. What? You worried I'll be better than you?" Spark continued to laugh, finding Stars predicament hilarious, she had no idea what she had gotten herself into. "Two things," Spark said. "One, never becoming a cheerleader. Two, and this is the funny part, Deacons sister Serena is his older sister. Miles and Connor know him because he's band with Miles. Deacon is only a Freshman."
"A Freshman?"
"Yep," Spark smirked. "Meaning he's younger than me? And that would make you younger than me too." Star balked, her jaw dropping as she gazed at her sister. "How old?"
"Fifteen. Maybe fourteen?"
"Fourteen," Star exclaimed. Spark now tried to hold in a laugh as Star stared at her appearance. It almost seemed like the auburn haired teen seemed to grow younger with the confirmation of her crushes age. Stars face looked even younger, her body looking just a bit skinnier. Now standing next to Spark, it almost seemed obvious that she appeared younger than her previously little sister. "Aww I should thank you Star," Spark smirked. "I always wanted a baby sister."
Star scowled, elbowing Spark in the stomach before storming out of the bathroom. Out of all the guys she had to crush on, why did it have to be one younger than her little sister?
