If there was any quick way to meet new people, it was a walk through the local park….
At least that was Colin’s logic.
It was a beautiful day outside… a shame that he’d come here alone.
He could be painting with Marinette, picnicking with Luan, or just strolling in Sam’s-
‘Focus Colin, you’re here to find a new one… how hard could it be?’ He thought as he kept strolling.
He walked the bend and noticed a brunette in a smock painting some flowers.
“That’s a nice painting.” He smiled.
No response.
“What kind of flowers are those?” He asked.
“Honeysuckle, they’re my girlfriend’s favorite.” The painter smiled.
“Honeysuckle… I’ll have to remember that… okay, have a nice day.” Colin smiled as he turned away with a sigh.
He went back to scanning passersby until he spotted a blonde in a plain black skirt and a blue blouse typing on a laptop. Those deep green eyes scanned the screen as Colin started walking in her direction….
Right as a dude in a black sweater showed up with a couple coffees.
“Can I help you?” She asked.
“Oh sorry, I was just looking for… ahhhh, there’s the bathroom!” Colin awkwardly smiled as he ran to the grey brick building and hopped into a stall.
“Okay… new strategy…” He thought aloud as he checked his phone. ‘Of course this is the one time I’m NOT glowing pink…’
He washed his hands and got back on the sidewalk as the lamp tumbled out of his backpack.
“Oh yeah, forgot I had this….” Colin said as he picked up the gold genie lamp. “Wait a minute, that’s it!”
Colin looked around with his mouth covered as he went back into the bathroom and locked the door.
The cloud of pink smoke poured out as genie swished her soggy hair side to side, her body wrapped in a pink towel.
“Hello Master, it’s been a while…” genie beamed.
“Sorry, I just finished my bath.”
“Yeah that’s fine, I mean, it’s not like I wished there was a serene single at the park that’ll sit down at whatever table I do.” Colin smiled.
“Wish granted, you’ll find that desperate single in no time flat!” Genie said with a snap as she disappeared in a puff of glittery pink smoke.
“Desperate?” Colin said as he looked over the lamp, “Oh right, the dent…. should probably get that fixed sometime.”
He stepped out of the bathroom and walked over to an empty table and started thoughtlessly scrolling through YouTube.
And there she was, emerging from a glowing pink cloud that nobody else noticed.
“There she is… wonder what makes her desperate?” He thought aloud.
He got his answer pretty quickly…
