JoAnne decided to tackle her next problem down in the special education wing of the school. There was a student there that was wrongly diagnosed intellectually disabled when in fact, they only had slow processing speed, which is actually a developmental disability. This meant that they were capable of learning the same as any normal student, but it took them longer to learn new skills. The learning disability was comparable to a slower and faster computer that were doing an identical task with identical software. Both could run the software, but the older one would take longer to complete the task. And so JoAnne was dead set in solving this problem for the benefit of the school, herself, and the student. There were any number of ways to solve this problem, and so JoAnne really hoped she was up to the challenge.
