"I'm not in that much of a rush. Can you explain how this works?" you asked. Your lunches are an hour long so you have plenty of time when it came down to it.
"Sure, Wally my man!" The Crimson Titan nodded eagerly. "These costumes can change something "small" about you, like if you want more muscles or different hairstyle, or even skin color! Or it can change you completely, like becoming something like that woman you saw earlier, a dog, or even a dragon! The imagination...and my selection of course, is the limit!" He explained, bending backwards slightly and grabbing the front of his jacket in pride. "You can do more subtle things as well, like more yourself more confident, comfortable in your form, or even give yourself powers or abilities!"
This couldn't be real, you thought, but you decided to keep humoring the Titan. "What about this 'lives stuff'? There's more to a new life then a new body."
"Glad you asked, and the pride and joy of my store!" If there was a way to metaphorically rev up, the Titan was doing it now. "With any change. ANY! You can have the choice of a suitable new life to go with it! Want to be a CEO of a very successful company and the skills to back it up? Easily done! A Lion in the African Savannah with your mind retained? Obtainable! A young dwarf starting his smith apprenticeship, but having the knack for it? Of course you can do that! I want you to experience not just life, but LIVES my boy!" The Titan emphasized the last part by yelling and waving his arms in the air. You were very glad that no one else seemed to be here at the moment.
"That's not even the best part, or it could be maybe... but really, this can all be no strings attached!" The Titan leaned in closely, as if to tell a secret. "You come back to your own life by the designated time or certain conditions are fulfilled, basically emergencies. You'll never experience death... don't ask me how the ghosts and stuff work. But when you come back, the world will adjust conveniently to you coming back. Gone for a day, or gone for a year. Having a cooldown period from being a bloodthirsty barbarian, you will find your old life and job set up for you when you get back, like if you had a made-up vacation!"
You gave him the most awkward smile possible. Whether or not this was true, it felt too specific on how it worked. Usually these type of situations were monkey paws in fiction, designed to make you learn a life lesson in a harsh way. The Titan seemed to sense what was going on with you.
"I see you're still skeptical. Tell you what, I have special costumes for people like you. Can think of them as "Beginner lives". They're not as spicy as life experiences go, at least from my store, but you don't really have to do anything you don't want to do during them, and should be a relaxing vacation regardless of which one you pick!" The Titan lead you on.
You saw more and more costumes and accessories, but once you got to the beginner section, you couldn't really call them costumes at this point, not even for Halloween. They were as generic as could be.
"The beginner costumes are really just mudane lives where you spend a bit of time on a weekend off, a literal vacation, or so on. Really you could just sit in a room all day if you wanted to, with food and needs taken care of." And then the Titan gave a big, heaving sigh. "And there's the Super Beginner costume..."
Regardless of Halloween or the office party, you felt piqued at this point, and the prices seemed fairly within your budget, even if you bought as a novelty item. There was alot you could be, but maybe you should play it safe and take the Titan's suggestion of a Beginner costume...
