You look at the items for a moment, arrayed on the floor in front of Sonia. Not sure which one to pick, you look from item to item, the sounds of pouring rain outside all you hear. These all look interesting but for some reason, the toys interest you the most.
Out of them all, a singular stuffed rabbit catches your attention. It has creamy gray colored fur, which seems to have manifested through years of play. A little red ribbon is tied around it’s neck. Frightened by the ghostly woman in front of you, you subconsciously hug the stuffed rabbit to your chest.
“Do you like the bunny?” Sonia softly asked, “I’m sure she likes you.”
You nod your head. That comment about the toy “liking” you gets your attention. You get the sudden want to learn more about it.
“Okay, I promise I'm not here to vandalize anything or harm anyone. From the sound of that storm out there, we are gonna have a while, so I'll take the bait. Tell me about some of this stuff, and start with the plush I’m holding.” you extend your arms outwards to show the bunny to Sonia.
She grins, and gestures to the floor.
“Splendid! Take a seat on the floor for story time!" Sonia exclaims in an absolutely cheerful manner.
You do as she says, to which she places her ghostly hand on your cheek. You can’t feel it physically, but there is still a chill left behind. You shudder a bit.
“Sorry for that,” Sonia says, withdrawing her hand, “I forget I’m like this whenever I see kid… other people.”
That line strikes you as odd. You’re way to big to mistaken for a child. Nonetheless, you decide to stay and listen.
“Let me tell you a story about one young woman who crossed the line at the wrong daycare,” the ghostly woman began.
You clutch the stuffed rabbit to your chest, wondering what could’ve happened to transform it.
“Okay, let’s set the scene...” Sonia said.
