While Damon was getting to earn the perks of being a star, never being cold, admiring the beauties of the cosmos and leaving astronomers baffled and in a tizzy, his girlfriend Monica got hold of the lamp as she went through her missing boyfriend's things on search of her own few possessions. She sighed as she wondered where he could be. The lamp looked nice so she took it. Damon was no more the owner of the lamp - and the genie within - because as a star in space he could no longer talk or utter any sort of wish. When home. Monica placed the lamp on a table and the genie waited patiently. Genies are good at that. Later, during the weekend, Monica picked up the lamp and decided to clean it. Naturally, the puff of smoke came out and the genie appeared, even though the girl cried out in terror and dropped the scary object.
"Hello, mistress. How can I serve you?" the genie said with a wide smile.
The genie had taken the shape of a young man while still retaining typical genie characteristics.
"You are a genie?" gulped Monica. "For real?"
"For real," smiled the genie, a smile with brilliant flashy teeth.
He went through the rules of genie wish-granting and when Monica asked if the genie's presence had anything to do with Damon's disappearance, this lead the genie to explain honestly what had occurred.
"You must have known that he meant being rich and famous!" said Monica in outrage mind reeling under the information.
"Well, I did explain to him that I merely let the magic loose. What it does is not in my power. He should have been more precise in his wording, that's all," he said matter-of-factly.
This was a big lie but the genie adored being mischievous way too much. So Monica pondered and thought that the opportunity was just too big to pass. It was risky but she just had to be really careful and detailed in the phrasing of her wish. Thus the writing of it on a piece of paper with lots of scratches. The genie waited patiently. Oh, humans were so predictable! He'd twist her words regardless. He always found a way.
"Okay, I'm ready!" said Monica happily, brandishing the paper.
"All right," smiled the genie.
"I wish to be royalty, a princess pampered and admired, rich and eternally young with incomparable beauty," Monica said excitedly.
The genie smiled again, this time malevolently.
"As you wish," he said, letting the magic loose.
