“What is that you need, little fella?” Jim asked the boy who wore a distressed expression on his youthful face.
“I-I-I… umm…” Roger couldn’t quite understand what he was trying to ask the man for. For some reason he had the feeling he needed to say something urgent to him but he could quite form the words.
“Sorry, son, but I believe I need to attend to my customers.” Two teenage boys had entered Jim’s store and had begun to browse the clothing.
“Wait!” Roger shouted, afraid of what would happen if he waited any longer to ask for help. “I… I need… something bigger!”
The words had just stumbled out of Roger’s mouth as he tried to properly make a request. Roger knew that there was some truth to his statement but knew it wasn’t exactly what he had meant to say. Regardless, the store owner didn’t react to what Roger had said with any sense of confusion. Without missing a beat, Jim handed Roger larger articles of clothing before leaving the boy by himself, making his way to talk to the new customers.
