"Look before you do whatever it is you're planning, just let me tell my side of the story." You plead desperately but he pretends to ignore you. "It started when I was in sixth grade. There was this guy, Jerome, I think. He was half-black, half-latino, and he had the weirdest eyes, one was blue the other was almost a yellow color. He used to stare at me during class and I remembered his eyes always creeped me out."
Charles looked up taking interest in what you had just said.
"One day, after school, I had missed the bus and my parents wouldn't be there for at least twenty minutes. It was just me and Jerome, nobody else was around..." You hesitate what you've been saying is true and this is the first time you've told anyone outside your family. "He walked up to me and just seemed to look up and down my body. I asked him what he wanted and without a word, he pinned me to a wall and unzipped my pants. He then took off his own pants and turned me around. He tried to rape me but before he could, I used an elbow to knock the wind out of him and, pulling my pants back up as I went, ran as fast as could away from the school and went into the woods. I could hear Jerome chasing me but he was still a good ways back from what I could tell. I didn't look back, fear just told me to keep running. I ran and I ran, until I reached an area in the woods where I could hide and waited, hoping Jerome wouldn't notice me.
"It didn't take him long to catch up and he was running looking around to find out where I went. He passed me and once he was clearly out of sight, I got up and ran back to the school.
"I kept myself concealed in a shadowy corner in case he came back and waited for my parents to get there. Once they had, I rushed full speed into the car. I confessed everything that happened to me and the last I heard of Jerome, he was on his way to juvy.
"Ever since that day I've been terrified of gays and people of other races. I beg of you, if you have any decency, any mercy for what I've been through, please let me go. I can't promise that I can trust blacks again but I know it will be a step in the right direction."
Charles was looking at you considering what you had just said.
