Ann wasn't sure how many more family secrets she could take. In the course of about 30 minutes she had found her parents regressed into teenagers, learned her father visited Merlin for help in talking to her mother, discovered her father was drafted into the Army, and almost died before being rescued by a fairy. Everything seemed to have an explanation yet no one could explain how her parents had become teenager in the first place.
"Hey does this belong to anyone?"
Ann and the others turned, noticing Marilyn now pick up what looked like a playing card. "What is that," Ann asked. Marilyn shrugged, studying the card carefully. It looked like a tarot card, the type she would expect to see a fortune teller use. The card looked old, adorned with hearts surrounded by fire. "Ann does this belong to you or Stephanie?"
Before either could answer, Marilyn gasped, the card began to glow with a brilliant light. Panic now began to set in for the red haired teen, Marilyn noting her clothing vanished only to be replaced by something else entirely. As the light faded, she stumbled, her eyes wide in surprise as she now beheld a rather unique outfit.
Ann and the others gawked at the teenage Marilyn. The regressed woman was adorned in a red and gold school girl outfit with golden hearts emblazoned upon the hem of her skirt. As the teenage girl now wobbled in her red heels, she cautiously ran a hand along the outfit, confirming it was real. "What am I wearing," she exclaimed, the girl frantically spinning as she looked herself over and tugged on the outfit. "Why is this skirt so short? Is my hair in pigtails?! What is going....Martin?!?!"
Ann now looked to where Marilyn was pointing. The look of shock on the teenage girls face only amplified as Ann gawked at her father. Martin was now adorned in an outfit of his own. The teenage boy sporting a silver breastplate with an armored gauntlet that ran the length of his arm. Beneath the armor Ann could see the blue clothing he wore, making her father look like a young knight from medieval times. Martin too seemed puzzled by his attire, the teenage boy now picking up his cane, only for it to turn into a silver and blue shield adorned with stars. "Marilyn what's happened to us?"
"I can answer that kyu."
All now turned towards the voice, seeing a pink cat with three tails now hop onto the couch. Now it was Miranda who gasped as she recognized the Guardian of the Solar Guardians. "Pokoyo?!"
"Greeetings Solar Guardian Sun kyu," the pink familiar purred. Miranda and the others were speechless, shocked into silence by the appearance of Pokoyo. "What is all this," Marilyn exclaimed. "Who are you?'
"Where are my manners," Pokoyo blushed. "My name is Pokoyo kyu. I am the Guardian familiar of the Solar Guardians and you have been choosen as the Solar Guardian of Mars!"
"Guardian of the what now?!"
Pokoyo now turned to Martin, curiously inspecting the teenage boy. "Interesting," he murmured. "This is a most unusual thing to occur kyu." Martin raised an eyebrow, still dumbfounded by everything that was happening. "What," he asked. "What's unusual?"
"The Solar Sentinel," Pokoyo replied. "The earthbound Guardian of the Solar Guardians. The Sentinel only appears when he has a deep, emotional connection to one of the Solar Guardians. Tell me, kyu, do you know Guardian Mars?"
"Shes um been my wife for over 50 years."
Pokoyo nodded, the familiar now understanding the Sentinels appearancee as a joyful smile spread across his feline features. "Of course now it makes sense," Pokoyo exclaimed happily. "Mars and the Sentinel are joined in the bonds of love kyu. One cannot exist without the other kyu."
"Wait does this mean we're both stuck like this," Marilyn exclaimed, the teenage girl still tugging on her skirt. "No of course not," Pokoyo chuckled. "This is simply your Solar forms. When not transformed you shall be as you were kyu. Just as any other Solar Guardian." Martin and Marilyn now glanced at one another, before changing a glance at the pink cat. "So can you help us turn back," they asked.
Pokoyo nodded, instructing the teens to simply power down. With those simple words, Martin and Marilyn changed back, their bodies returning to their formerly elderly selfs. Stunned the pair breathed a sigh of relief, quickly noticing that they now possessed an odd accessory. "Why am I wearing this bracelet," Marilyn asked, holding out her hand to show a small silver and gold bracelet adorned with a heart. "And where did this medallion come from," Martin added, dangling a star medallion from the chain that appeared around his neck.
"These are your Solar items kyu," Pokoyo replied. "They shall allow you to assume your Solar forms whenever you please. Simply touch the item and shout out the name of your Solar Guardian and you shall assume the form of the protectors of love and justice within the Solar system."
This was finally Ann's breaking point, her parents now in possession of magical items that would transform them into teenage defenders of the Solar system. Swooning, the middle age woman now fainted, leaving the room curious as to what the futures of Solar Guardian Mars and the Solar Sentinel held.
