Alas, Elizabeth and Thomas had no time to really make their decisions. Out from the woods a figure arrived and snatched both little kids, stuffing them in a bag. It slipped back into the woods and smirked under the cover of the trees. The partying friends barely heard anything. The witch did and shook her head. Ah, well. Another trick of these fay creatures. She wove a spell so as everyone would remember Thomas and Lizzie again as adults, so that their friend would not be blamed for a babysitting ending up with children disappearing. She knew that in the end Elizabeth and Thomas would be safe. All in all. Because she knew why this ogre had grabbed and put these two young children in a sack. Fay creatures have great trouble producing children, so humans make the perfect substitutes. They replace fay children, get transformed into their perfect children and get raised by them. With much coddling, in fact. Fay beings, or most of them, adore children as a rule and humans are malleable enough to be transformed rather easily. So Thomas and Elizabeth would just get a new family and get adopted quickly. Fay creatures snatched children in haste to satisfy their parental instincts. They would almost certainly would get transformed further, or their minds, but fay creatures did that. It was the way of the world, after all. She made herself a cup of coffee and sat in her comfortable chair, awaiting another possible visitor.
As for the ogre, he smirked widely. Perfect! He had two human little children in hand. Much better than capturing full-blown adult humans that had to be regressed afterwards. He knew an old sorcerer that paid a lot for humans. He transformed them to present them as the perfect fay children to adopt, or perfect human children, even, and his customers paid handsomely for the adoption. And he got a lot for his captured humans too. So he grunted to the two brats to stay quiet and shook the bag as well. The two snivelling brats only cried louder. The ogre grunted. Well, the sorcerer's castle was close enough. He'd get his gold coins and these two off his back. Literally.
