With limited time to think or come up with a plan, you decided that staying in the crib was your best option. Unfortunately this leaves you as a sitting duck, but you don’t see any other option.
“Those girls better be gentle,” you think.
You notice a teddy bear laying on the floor beside the crib. It had been covered in doodles, lost a leg, and looked discolored from… something.
“Maybe they’re not,” you frantically think.
You had second thoughts, and begun to climb the bars. Unfortunately, the shrill scream of a bell ringing interrupted this. You fell onto your padded butt as the door swung open. Toddlers and small girls rushed the room, grabbing at toys that were left on the floor and dispersing around the room. You could see them begin their “playtime.” It was awful, for the girls’ idea of fun was to put these toys through the worst torture possible. They were throwing the toys around, drawing on them, and dragging them across the floor. Only a handful actually played with them nicely.
“How could the instructors let this happen?” you thought, paralyzed in fear.
Suddenly, a little girl turned towards the crib. You covered yourself in a blanket, hoping she didn’t notice you. Through all the chaos you felt like you could zero in on her footsteps. Even from beneath the blanket, you saw the shadow she cast over you. A pudgy hand pulled the cover away, and revealed you.
The girl grinned and exclaimed, “New baby!”
You wanted to scream as her hands wrapped around your sides. She fiercely pulled you out, and held you to her face. You tried to wiggle out of her grasp, but found yourself unable.
Your holder commented, with her little vocabulary…
