Rick sat in the basement carefully examining his shrinking and growing formulas.
Now knowing that his formulas were safe, he began to experiment with the dosages. He selected one of his white rabbits from his collection of test subjects and set her in the table. There, he injected the animal with a light dosage of shrinking serum, watching as the docile animal began to reduce, becoming only a few inches smaller. Intrigued, Rick applied another heavier dosage and gasped as the hapless bunny reduced to only an inch or so in size.
He carefully palmed his rather freaked out test subject, carefully checking her over, and began to work calculations on the intensity of the dosage versus her initial size and weight. Over the next few hours, Rick carefully worked out how much serum to apply, shifting the rabbit between growth and shrinkage again and again. The more he did it, the more the rabbit seemed to adapt to changing size, with intense reduction and enlargement causing little more than a momentary shudder versus the clear discomfort.
Finally, restoring the rabbit to her full size, Rick got a wicked grin. He picked up the animal, placed her on the floor, and injected her with a heavy dose of growth serum. He wanted to see how big she could get.
The bunny began to grow. Past her normal size. Bigger and bigger. She seemed somewhat nervous and confused as she began to fill out the area, reaching feet in length and growing on and on until she stood taller on her hind legs than Rick was tall.
The scientist stared in shock as the growth process finished, leaving the rabbit a massive giant, her ears touching the told of the basement ceiling and folding down in response. Rick soothed the animal, running his hands through her soft fur, and she seemed to respond by easing her tension and relaxing.
Rick stared in shock, completely entranced by the giant sized lepus. At last, after spending a few blushing minutes with her, Rick decided to shrink her back down before something happened. A quick injection of the normalizing serum quickly brought the rabbit back down to her original size.
Trembling, almost aroused with excitement, a flushed Rick placed the bunny back in her cage and found himself sitting at the desk again in shock.
He looked over his notes. His dosages. He double checked every calculation.
That night, as usual, Rick climbed into bed with his wife.
Tabitha was reading a book and yawned. “Any progress today?”
Rick glanced at his buxom and gorgeously middle aged wife and smiled slyly. “Maybe...” he said cryptically.
“Well,” Tabitha smiled, chuckling. “That’s better than a failure, isn’t it, my handsome man?”
Tabitha kissed Rick on the cheek, put her book down, and clicked off the side table lamp. Rick lay awake, his body hot with anticipation and sweat, and waited for his lovely wife to drift off to sleep.
He glanced at the small serum loaded needle he had brought upstairs, hidden under his work clothes for the morning, and asked himself if he was really about to do this.
