Brendon sighed deeply and closed his eyes. Soon, he was asleep, talking a snooze. But while he was napping, Beldazar was laughing with excitement. He knew how he'd twist the youth's words and he would revel in his confision and humiliation! Whether he found his new carefree life pleasant would be up to him. And best of, all, now incapable of uttering any human word, Beldazar would not be required to grant any more wishes! A wish has to be spoken and written and by the time Brendon thought to use his paws to trace a wish, assuming he linked his new life to his words uttered so thoughtlessly, someone else will have picked up the lamp. Beldazar laughed to himself. Oh yes, he'd enjoy the show for sure! So as Brendon slept, reality shifted drastically around him. At least he'd stay with Triksi, as he had wished in his demand filled with the love he felt for the female dog.
When Brendon opened hiss eyes, he felt strange. Why did he feel so different? His vision was a bit blurry. Yet he did not sense a blanket covering him. Or clothes on his skin, for that matter. So why did he not feel cold? And why did his mattress feel different? And above all, why were there noises in his ears and why smells assaulted his nose with such an intensive yet attractive strength? And then noticed his arms had paws and that they were covered in fur. Brendon was a dog, but he was yet to discover which sort.
