Meanwhile the Vet happens to drive by the farm and glancing over, he spots a beautiful Horse in the pasture which he does not recognize. The vet raises an eyebrow, “I thought Patty said that it would take three weeks for the new Horse to arrive. Looks like it happened sooner than expected, and from what I can tell, it’s one majestic creature,” he says to himself, “hmm… well, the pups are due to be chipped and vaccinated, I’ve got nothing else to do today, so might as well drop in”.
The Vet, Dr. Huff, is a 45-year-old man with an athletic built, short black hair and brown eyes, turns his car off of the main road and drives up to the main house.
After parking the car, the man get out and walks to the front door, he then knocks and waits. When the door opens he is greeted by the surprised face of Patty, “good evening, miss Thomas,” he says.
“Dr. Huff,” the woman says, “what… what a surprise. What’s the reason for your visit?”
“Oh, I happened to drive by your pasture and couldn’t help but noticed that you already have gotten the replacement Horse,” the Vet says, smiling, “the pups are due to get chipped and vaccinated, and since I’m free for the rest of the day, I figured I could check the Horse and deal with the pups”.
“Um… to be honest, I borrowed the horse until the one I’ve bought arrives,” the woman says, “as for the pups, I thought you said the chipping and vaccination should be in two to three weeks”.
Dr. Huff nods, “true, but the sooner the better,” he says, “even though you have borrowed the Horse, I’d still like to check it out. You don’t want to have beef with the owners should something happen, right?”
‘Damn it,’ Patty thinks to herself, Dr. Huff is known for not taking “no” for an answer, the woman then sighs, “okay, if you insist Dr. Huff,” she then says, “but the Horse is already chipped and even has a tracker implanted, according to the owners who seemed legit, even though they haven’t provided any documents”.
“Okay, but still, people can say a lot of things,” Dr. Huff says, “so, I’d rather check it out. Better safe than sorry”.
Patty sighs, “okay, fine,” she says, “you know where to find the pups, just so you know, there is one pup more who I’m dog-sitting. So, she should be chipped and vaccinated already”.
“What does the pup look like,” Dr. Huff asks.
“She has the same colouring of the other pups,” Patty says, “the only difference is that she, her name is “Mizi”, has a small white spot on her forehead, while the other pups don’t”.
Dr. Huff nods, “very well,” he says, “I shall get to work then,” and with that he heads to his car to get everything he needs.
Patty watches the Vet head first in the direction of the pups, ‘I hope I won’t regret this,’ she thinks to herself, ‘but I trust Dr. Huff, he won’t do anything without asking me first,’ with that the woman heads back inside the house.
