Tabitha stumbled a bit as she gathered her bearings again. She wondered where she was. There were blurs of bright colors yet it were the sounds that got to her first. Sounds of kids playing, bouncing around, shouting, laughing, some crying, even but kids plain having fun or just living. And she soon saw why. She was in a big indoor playground. There were structures and slides, jungle gyms, numerous toys in chests, ball pits and much more. This place had everything, she thought. She could feel the excitement seeping through her, until she realized there was something around her groin. Something that felt like a fat pillow. Like... Tabitha realised in horror that she was wearing a diaper. Then as she looked at her hands she saw they were pudgy. She was about three years old, if that! And she was wearing a pink onesie pyjamas with unicorns. All the other children were wearing pyjamas too. They ranged from about two to ten year old. Some wee kept in safe playpens. Feeling giddy, Tabitha joined in the fun, romping and playing with abandon. As she was resting a bit, she then noticed something stranger than the kids wearing pyjamas. There were no adults inside the indoor playground. Only behind a sort of fence and they just watched the children, ushering in to come to the aid of one if it was required before going back to watching. Tabitha thought this looked more like an animal enclosure than a playground. Especially as the doors were locked and impossible to pass for any kid. There were other adults watching, those ones with uniforms and they were looking at the children from a second floor, through a glass window. Those did not wear any employee uniforms.Where was she? Was it a weird sort of hospital? But none of the children appeared sick or wounded. Also, it was getting harder to think. She needed a rest bad. Tabitha laid down on a soft mattress and did not even feel it as an employee picked her up and placed her in a playpen with the other youngest kids.
Tabitha did not realize she was at risk, at great risk even, of losing her memories. And what she did not know was that this place was a playground where regularly children, mortal children, were kidnapped and placed into, all for fay parents to come and observe them in order to select the child or children they wished to adopt. Fay creatures have terrible problems reproducing so adopting human children and transforming them further to suit their desires made sense. When visiting the center, both employees and prospective parents took on human shape so as not to frighten the kids too much. Yes, Aalasee had known what he was doing.
