Jess pulled three vials from the furs section and showed them to Mary. Her fists were closed around the labels so neither woman could see them. "Go ahead and try your luck," Jess invited. "And drink the whole thing, they're only furs."
Mary chose one, pulled it from Jess' fists and downed the vial without looking at the label. She shivered for a moment, but she didn't feel much of a change, unlike the last time. She checked her vanity mirror to see if anything was happening.
Sure enough, she could see her orange fur darkening to jet black. The white area around her chest and neck stayed the same, however. A white stripe was also visible running from her nose up into her hair. Her hair, meanwhile, had blackened as well, but the white stripe appeared in those locks as well. She turned around, lifting up the back of her baggy shirt, and found that the white stripe split into two at her neck and continued down her back and onto her tail. Obviously she now had a skunk's fur coat, but since her tail remained the shape of a cat's, the distinct stripes tapered very thin on it.
"That kinda doesn't have the same effect," Mary remarked. Jess nodded in agreement.
