Jess saw a vial that read "Lion's Mane." Considering Mary was very feline in the first place, this seemed like a sure-fire idea.
"Okay," Jess said. "Let's try growing your hair out again." She handed the short catgirl the vial.
Mary looked at the label and wondered how much she needed to take to get her long hair back. At last, she decided that it couldn't hurt to take the entire vial and see what happens. She swallowed the concoction, which was quite a feat considering it tasted like used shampoo scum.
Her scalp felt like it had been lit on fire. Her short blond hair erupted out of its follicles, turning a bright red as it grew. Her hair thickened and thickened, her follicles churning out four or five times as many hairs as before. Her cheeks and neck kicked into action as the fur there began to blossom as well. The halo of hair surrounding Mary's face expanded outward as well as downward as more strands of hair added to the thicket. She felt hairs at the top portion of her back growing as well. Finally, the burning subsided and Mary breathed a sigh of relief. It felt like her head had just been pulled fifteen miles by a truck.
She turned to Jess and discovered that her friend was in hysterics, barely even able to stand up. Fearing the worst, Mary turned to the nearest mirror.
Her fiery red mane looked incredibly wild and bushy. The hairs surrounded her entire head. The ones growing from her cheeks and neck ended around her breasts, but the hair on the top of her head and back grew all the way to her ankles.
"I definitely need a trim," she mused right before joining Jess in uncontrollable laugher.
