It's Halloween & the 8 years old Maxwell as he has for years is heading out Trick or Treating 'without his costume'. Maxwell (or Max for short) is going out al natural. As his true self. Let me explain. Max is actually a velociraptor; a dinosaur. Humans think dinosaurs all went extinct millions of years; but they didn't. They just evolved to blend in with humans. They can transform into humans. They are what you guess you might call Skinwalkers. Also alot of them aren't as big as their ancient ancestors. Velociraptors 'are' the same size as their ancient ancestors though. Max stripped naked & 'mentally undid his bindings' & he felt his body 'stretch out' as he assumed his real form; a velociraptor. He silently groaned because it felt so good to do it. Being in a human form feels like being tightly wrapped & crushed; not in a painful way just an uncomfortable way. His human form feels so much like a costume to him; one he has to wear all the time. He can't stand it. And he Hate Wearing clothes. It feels so damn Wrong. Max headed out with his Halloween bucket in his claws & saw his human friend Adam (also 8 years old). Adam is dressed as a cowboy this year. "Looking good as always my dino." Adam said with a smile seeing his dinosaur friend. Adam is the only human who knows the 'true Maxwell." "As I always say, it feels great to not wear that costume for a few hours. Just be al natural me." Maxwell whispered & they began walking together. Max's mother forces him to always be in his human form all the time; even at home when it's just him & her (she's a velociraptor too of course). Max can barely recall ever seeing her as her real self. Does she feel shame in being a dinosaur? He doesn't know. "It's so cool you can Trick or Treat without a costume." Adam whispered to Max. Max gave a toothy mischievous grin whispering back "And in the nude." Maxwell couldn't wear anything in his velociraptor form even if he wanted to; nothing he had would fit him like this. And Max wouldn't want to anyway. So the boy & the dinosaur began Trick or Treating as they have done for years. Maxwell loves Halloween. Not for the candy but for the fact he can get away with walking around as his 'true self' outside. No human seems to realize the velociraptor they see is a real dinosaur; they just believe it's a kid in a costume. "After we are done Trick or Treating for the night you want to come over to my house to sort our candy out?" Adam asked Max. "Sure, but I'd have to go home first to get changed to do that." Max answered. "No you won't. My parents won't be home untill tomorrow; like your mom." Adam informed. Maxwell gave a happy toothy grin. He was so glad he revealed his 'true self' to Adam all those years ago. He's a great human. The best friend a dinosaur could have.
