Abigail didn't need the magic fading to realize she was in a different place. And this place was definitely no more her room. Or that of her childhood, actually. She wads in a cave. A marine cave, decorated with seashells and illuminated by phosphorus corals and algae. It was dry until it led to water that must in turn lead to an opening. Seawater, from the smell of it. There was a tiny opening on the ceiling, letting in air. She was lying on a bed of seaweed, much softer than she would have believed. Where was she? And then she saw her legs, or rather what were left of them. For she had a tail now. A long tail of a tropical fish, except it moved up and down, like a dolphin, and not side-to-side like an actual fish. It was pretty though, all in purple and blue and green hues, along with shots of gold. But she saw also that her hands were webbed and... pudgy. She saw that she had the body of a little kid, a toddler even! She was naked and a mermaid! How was that possible? There must have been a mistake!
"Saanp! What have you done?" she cried. "Help me!"
"I gave you what you wanted," the idol's voice resonated. "You wanted to be the favourite of your family. You simply gave no precisions as to WHAT family you meant. I sent you to another one. You'll be the favorite, though. Like you wanted. Oh, and I hear your new daddy arriving. One of them anyway. Enjoy your new life."
Abigail was left to reel under the consequences of her wish as the water broke in the basin. A grey beluga-like animal emerged, also with webbed hands but dragon-like legs and a tail with a dolphin-like appearance. What was this monster?
"Coral!" it gushed. "Did you have a nice nap?"
