Lilith sighed as she made her way towards Death Riot’s garage. After almost getting killed by the same assassin twice she had gotten an earful from Misery. Getting yelled at by authority figures was nothing new for Lilith but this was different. Misery wasn't upset because Lilith was an inconvenience, she was upset because she was worried about Lilith. It struck the goth girl as foreign, watching this auburn haired young woman near tears as she asked if she was alright.
After the awkward reunion, Lilith need some normalcy. Well as normal as things could be as she made her way towards Death Riot. What she needed now was the nihilistic destructivness of a punk rock band and a necromancer. Opening the door to their hangout, Lilith could see them lounging around, listening to music. "Hey guys," she said. "How's it going?"
Lilith was surprised by what happened next. She expected the group to offer her a dull wave before continuing what they were doing. Instead their eyes grew wide, the group rushing towards her. Luca now scooped her up in a bearhug, the burly werewolf squeezing her so tight she thought she might break something. "Luca can't breath," she choked.
"Sorry," Luca replied quietly, putting the goth teen down and taking a step back. Lilith now stared up at him, finding his wolfish face looking anxious with large, wet eyes. Had he been crying? Before she could even ask a question, Jolie lept at her, burying her face into her chest. "We thought you died," she wailed. Lilith grimaced, watching as tear and snot stains spread on her shirt. "I'm fine Jolie," Lilith groaned, watching as the necromancer took a step back, wiping her nose. "Wow Set what's up with.."
Lilith gasped as it was now Sets turn to squeeze her in a tight embrace. She hadn't expected that reaction, her eyes wide as the mummy now smoothed Liliths hair and shirt. As the mummy stood before her with a warm smile, Lilith glanced at the approaching vampire. Bong frowned, socking the girl in the shoulder. "Ow that hurt," Lilith grumbled.
"Yeah well you scared the shit out of us," Bong replied. As Lilith rubbed the sore spot, Bong sighed, handing the teenage girl one of her cigarettes. Taking a drag, she exhaled, feeling a sense of normalcy return. Everyone else may have been acting weird but at least Bong wasn't making a big production out of everything. "So the fuzzy bitch tried to kill you twice and you survived," Bong smirked. "You're one lucky asshole, asshole. Remind me to take you with me the next time I play Powerball." Lilith rolled her eyes, the group now making their way towards the car. "I guess," she grumbled. "But um I need to talk to you guys about something. I um...kinda met someone."
The group paused, studying the teenage gurl carefully. "Who," they asked. "Well um she's a girl I go to school with," Lilith stammered. "And um..I..uh..kinda like her." The group now all raised an eyebrow, this was big news. Jolie now pushed herself forward, staring directly into Liliths eyes. "A girlfriend! So have you guys like, you know.." Jolie now held her hands up, in a classic pantomime of scissors, which she proceeded to mash together. Liliths face contorted in horror, her cheeks turning crimson in embarrassment.
"The FUCK? NO!"
Bong sighed, pushing Jolie out of the way as she led Lilith towards the table. As the group took a seat, she took a breath. "Okay yeah this is a big deal," she said. "So what's her name and how you meet her."
"Its Annie," Lilith replied. "Annie Pendragon. She um, goes to my school and uh was there when we got jumped in the woods." Bong nodded, the others rubbing their chins thoughtfully. "Isn't that Jack's kid," Set asked, to which Lilith nodded. "Smooth kid," Luca chuckled. "Going after the Bosses daughter. He turned the one guy to jelly for messing with her. Wonder what will happen to you if you break her heart."
"Not helping Luca," Bong replied tersely.
"Thats the thing though," Lilith blushed. "I've um...never been on a date, like ever. I don't even know what to ask her or where to go! You guys gotta help me here!" The group now paused in their light hearted teasing, seeing that Lilith was obviously distressed. "What do you think Bong coffee date," Set asked. "Definitely," Bong replied. "Oh and here," Jolie offered, reaching into her pocket and handing Lilith some money. "This way you can pay for her."
"But what do I say," Lilith groaned. "How do I even ask her anyway?"
"Just ask her if she wants to get some coffee," Bong shrugged. "No pressure. She's a friend right?" Lilith nodded as Bong continued. "Okay then just start there. Just two friends going out for coffee to hangout. That's it."
"But if she breaks your heart Lilith," Luca added. "I'm ripping her arms off."
Lilith stifled a laugh, thanking this odd group of misfits for their advise. As insane as it seemed, this nihilistic, destructive group of supernatural punks was quickly becoming her loving, oddball family.
