As the car ground to a halt, Nicola and James looked at each other nervously, not knowing if they were about to transform and what they might become if they did. Instead the blacked out panel between them and the driver wound down to reveal that their chauffeur was dressed not in a suit and tie but a blue uniform with the name of an exotic sounding pet store on his chest. She turned around to address them, revealing herself to be an attractive red haired woman in her early thirties.
“Greetings, I’m Agent Walker, I will be taking you both into the target's mansion soon for your surveillance mission. Before that I need to debrief you both as you will be entering the farm as livestock. We are sure there is criminal activity going on her but don't know much more, so we will need you to get about as much as you can in your temporary forms to investigate”
“How long are we going to be stuck here for?” Nicola asked unhappily. Agent Walker grimaced a little, not appreciating the interruption, before answering.
“That depends on how quickly you get the intel we need. You will be able to communicate with each other by thought - pretty clever huh? - but to anyone else you will just be a pair of dumb farm yard animals. You don’t have to do anything other than get yourself into positions where you can see and hear any information that might be pertinent to us. When the house is empty we will transform you both back temporarily to report back. We may also need to transform you into something different, temporarily at least, depending on the reports we receive and what needs to be done to complete the mission.”
“What about our clothes when we are human?” Nicola asked. Agent Walker sighed again.
“We can’t have you both leaving a pile of clothes behind whenever you transform, that would look incredibly suspicious. I’m afraid you will both need to get over your modesty and remain naked for the greater good of bringing down a ruthless criminal. In fact I would strongly suggest you both undress now.”
“What?!” Nicola asked in disbelief.
“Believe me, you would be doing yourself a favour. You will be transformed either way, but sometimes with clothes involved things can get…messy!”
“Fine. But keep your eyes off me James!” Nicola hissed as she began undressing.
“You too!” James answered back as he undid his belt.
Soon two naked and embarrassed agents were sat in the back of the car, ready if not willing to be transformed.
“Okay, I think we are good to go!” Agent Walker smiled slightly as she spoke into her radio before turning back to James and Nicola “You’ll be just fine. They are going to make you different species to separate you so you can cover more of the farm, I'm not sure which yet. But to be aware, the transformation technology implanted in you isn’t quite as top secret as we would like. You will need to act convincingly as the animals you become at all times so as not to raise suspicion. If you do, you are going to be extremely vulnerable in animal form. It might mean eating a few gross things and living in a less than human environment, but nobody said this job would be easy, right?”
Nicola was about to ask another question, but it would have to wait as both she and James began to shrink into their undercover forms.
