The January 2024 issue of Animalia Magazine was called the 'Looking Behind, Looking Ahead..." Edition, both to look back at all the major events and discoveries that happened during the Year 2023, and the major events that would happen during 2024.

One of the biggest events to look back on, in retrospect, was the 2023 IAC. The biggest part of the article was the list of events and who won gold, silver, and bronze. There was also a list of all the major events of When Worlds Collide..., and what major battle/world event inspired it. What was probably the most surprising to learn, if you didn't know about it beforehand, was that several of the deadliest conflicts in history actually took place in China, and thus, several major confrontations inspired by historical events from When Worlds Collide... took place in China.

Of course, since the 2024 Olympics were taking place in Paris, there was also going to be a showcase of Olympic Athletes Vs. Amateur Animalian Athletes. Because of this, Renardville was undergoing a large expansion. While some were more prone to comparing the theme to Europe's Baroque period, those who had a higher level of education in regard to World/European history made the comparison to the Belle Époque era of French and European history, though most of this went right over the heads of 'lesser folk'.

In regard to future events, one of the popular pages on the Digital Edition was Aiko's survey/blog of "Ao Guang Island". While this wasn't officially nailed down yet, there was a consensus rising that this would be at least one of the names voted on. While Aiko was taking pictures of the beautiful scenery and what she was planning (sometimes with her in the pictures, including a few "tastefully nude" pictures locked safely behind the Premium section), both Chinese, Japanese, and American architects were debating over what to add for hotels and/or Casinos.
One really unexpected discovery was a large hot spring, which showed that the Volcano was "alive" enough to heat water up enough to make it fitting for an authentic hot spring inn while remaining "safely extinct". While most people were confused from this, there were plenty of geologists who were able to explain this. However, there were those fanboys/fangirls who were more concerned with the more... PG-13+ implications, which just goes to show how Anime, loneliness, and teenage hormones do not make a good combination, even if said posts were pretty hilarious.

Speaking of hilarious, Mercy had also started a blog on the Animalia website, where she gave a tour of Animalia's major facilities to Missy and Duke. Fortunately, there was a "Declassified" section from both Reno PD and the FBI that confirmed most of their story. What more people were paying attention to were how "small" both Missy and Duke looked in photos featuring both them and Animalians. In one hilarious photo, Duke (which most people assumed was a 'macho-man' name) ended up looking (and feeling) downright emasculated compared to some of the heavyweight Animalian males, while another featured Missy looking rather small (especially in the 'pecs' department) compared to some of the female Animalians.

Finally, there was a before-and-after article that covered the people with bad enough obesity problems who were coming to Animalia as part of its "new-year-new-me". While a good deal of them were more about enormous bellies, there were a few that were downright "troll bait", such as one guy whose obesity was bad enough (coupled with a hormonal imbalance) that his "moobs", as one troll called them, made him look rather androgynous.
