“Do you have to hang up that thing?” inquired Mike as he sat by his desk working on a paper while his roommate was hanging a poster on “his” wall.
“Why do you have to hang that thing up?” inquired Zane as he pointed at poster Mike had put on his wall by his desk. It was a poster showing a Christian rock band with a rather large cross center stage.
“Because this is far more acceptable than that.” Pointed out Mike as he turned around in his swivel chair and pointed toward the poster Zane was hanging up.
The poster showed what can be best described by Mike as a female demon and the devil having sex among a hellish scene. The female devil was bare chested and riding on top of the devil among the fields of fire and lava with a blacken ash sky and what seamed to be trees with faces screaming in pain in the background.
“I find this just as acceptable as that lie.” Stated Zane as Mike fought the need to punch his roommate. For the thousandth time, he wondered why God had decided to give him Zane as a roommate. Zane wasn’t just a nonbeliever, he wouldn’t have liked that but he would have accepted it but he was openly hostile to the faith Mike had devoted his whole life to. He had come to this school not only to get his engineering degree but to become a deacon and he was rooming with Zane.
Zane who wore black or dark clothes 90 percent of the time, Zane who wore a symbol of the devil around his neck at all time and even was saving up to get a tattoo of it. Zane who openly supported those who lived in sin instead of trying to save their souls.
For his part Zane, really disliked Mike. Mike who dressed so formally every day and freaked out when a women wore anything but a dress which went past the knees. He had shamed a women wearing a one piece bathing suit at a pool because it showed too much skin. He was that level of religious crazy, basically a cult victim in Zane’s eyes.
Still he would have toned down his anti-religion stance if it wasn’t for the fact that Mike had tried to convert him multiple times. Had tricked him to go to the parking lot of his church when his car had broken down to help only to be tried to be forced into the church so that they could save Zane’s soul. Had attempted to remove cloths and music that he believed came from the devil. Then he had come out in support of people who hated others just because they wanted the same rights to love their partner like anyone else.
Either way, the two of them really didn’t get along and both couldn’t wait for the end of year so they could change roommates.
The poster of a succubus and Incubus having sex in a hellish scene of fire and lava with tortured souls in the background was just the newest in a long line of clashes between the two.
Little did they know it would be their last, for this wasn’t a normal poster that Zane had picked up at the store. It was a magical piece of art which was about to transport them and anyone else around them into the world that would only really be described as Hellish and make them all new members of the race which called it home.
