Jared kissed Michael, she really did! All in the hope that he would give her the money she was owed. However it didn't work, mainly due to the fact that Jared was currently a weakling.
Well it sort of worked, Jared did manage to snatch the notes from Michael's hands, but she did not get away with them. Michael put an arm around her waist and held her in against him. Jared didn't have the strength to pull away. She became immediately aware of the difference in strength between males and females.
'Whoa! Where are you going? I deserve more than a kiss for two hundred dollars!'
'Ahh.... Let me go! I'm just going to take the notes to Jared!' Jared's voice came out as a squeal.
Michael chuckled. 'Sorry Jugs! I don't trust you to give the money to Jared. How about I come around with you to your place and give it to him myself?' He easily took the money back out of Jared's fingers before releasing her from his grip
'Arrghh... That won't work......' Jared had to quickly think up an excuse 'Jared's sick and is isolating at my place. You won't be allowed to enter'
'Sick? What's he got? Covid? And why would he isolate at your place?'
'It's not covid.... Some rare invectious disease, I can't remember it's name. He can stay at my place only because I and all my family had it several weeks ago and hence we are immune from it now and are caring for him while he's sick. You might catch it if you entered our house' Jared hoped Michael would believe her lie.
'Err... Well I don't want to catch any nasty disease. I've got a job interview this week. Say hello to him for me' Michael backed off a bit from Jared 'Are you sure you're not infectious yourself? I mean..... You just kissed me!'
'No I'm no longer infectious. So now can you give me the money?'
'No. I don't trust you. I know what I will do. I'll give him a ring and if he tells me to give you the money I will' Michael immediately took his own phone from his pocket and started dialling.
Jared had to stop him 'That won't work. He's lost his voice. The disease causes laryngitis'
But it was too late. Jared's phone now in the handbag over her shoulder began to ring. Unfortunately for Jared he used an distinctive ringtone.
'You have his phone? What else do you have? Michael took the handbag off Jared's shoulder. Jared didn't even try to resist feeling totally defeated. Michael unzipped the bag. Inside he found Jared's phone, his/her keys and his/her wallet. 'Why have you got all of Jared's stuff?' He looked at Jared accusingly.
Jared was silent and contemplated what to say. Should she come clean? Would Michael believe her even if she did? Or could she quickly think up another excuse?
