It hit the ground, landing square on its top, and in doing so, hit the main button, and possibly some others as well!? All they knew was what followed, as the dark room lit up.
FLASH
Unfortunately for them, they got the worst case scenario. The awareness option had also been selected, but it wasn't gonna matter after this change anyway.
Rick's figure shrunk down till she was a foot tall, then lost gender as their genitals transformed. Rick's vagina stretched out a few inches, its flesh turning into a wire, while the clit stretched out and splint into a metal plug for the outlet. Their face, butt, and every other hole vanished as the skin hardened into plastic. Its hair stretched outward, turned pale, then fell in a slight arch shape, becoming the lamp shade, as the whole body grew the same shade of red as the hair once was. Finally, the head stretched slightly, then coiled and whitened until only a lightbulb remained.
Emily, meanwhile, shrank further, his body curling up into a semicircle. His feet and arms rested on the ground, then shrank until it kept him just an inch from the ground, and simplified into black, plastic squares. His dick shot out, became a wire, and the tip opened up and slimmed on either end, also becoming a plug for the outlet. On its back grew two openings, as metal filled the interior, and the outside paint job of this new device was brown, the same as the former Emily's hair.
Now, on the ground sat 3 objects. There was a little red lamp made for reading by the bedside, a brown toaster made to cook small meals for breakfast, and of course, the magical, reality altering camera of changes.
With awareness off, the two former people thought nothing. The lamp was a lamp, and the toaster a toaster. Of course, since they had been magically transformed, there was some remaining consciousness underlying the surface, but was essentially equivalent to someone in a coma, only being awakened if awareness came back on, or they transformed into something with a brain. The objects also had some feeling, as they were people essentially convinced they were objects.
The lamp and toaster, both wanted to be used, and to fulfill their purpose. The lamp wanted to be plugged in, and shed light on the dark room, while the toaster wanted to be plugged in and make toast or cook Eggo waffles, but neither actually thought of this directly. They were just household items, after all. Without the magic of the camera, there would be zero feelings of anything.
The house also transformed too. With Rebecca and Elton never having existed as humans, a new family had bought the house and moved in instead. The furniture, family photos on the wall and even wallpaper changed. Hours later, the objects still laid on the floor, until late at night, the new owners of the home would arrive from their late night outing, confused as to why their lamp and toaster were just on the floor, and what this camera was that had just appeared.
The door opened, and in walked...
