Ty laughed victoriously, until he heard the voice of his mother once more, thoughtfully humming to herself. He turned in horror.
The sow had a cloven hoof to her chin, and was looking at the array of pigs at her disposal. "Hmm... what shall I name them all?" With a shrug, she suddenly turned back into her mortal form. "Sorry, dear, I was never good with names. I mean, Telegonus? What, was I on drugs or something?"
"But," Ty blubbered, "I'm more powerful than you!" he cried, "I could sense it!"
"Ty, my dear," Circe scolded, "please be reasonable. You're a sixteen year old boy who has has magical powers for a whole of thirty some-odd hours. Do you really think you'd possess the faculties to sense the full extent of my power? The power of a god?! I knew you mortals were stupid, but this is just a frustrating degree of ignorance. I have divine heritage in full, you're a half-blood, yet you expect to possess powers greater to my own? Your lack of insight disappoints me to no end."
Ty had been attempting to unleash all manners of spells and wishes on her, but to no avail. She remained unphased.
"As does your lack of respect. Your antics were amusing, I admit, but to use your powers on me? Your mother? The very being who gave you such power? That is an insolence unheard of. And, I'm afraid, will not go unchecked."
Ty suddenly felt a burning sensation beneath his skin. At first it felt like an intense rash, but suddenly, it felt as if his bones were superheated, searing his flesh from within.
"What..." Ty was terrified, "What are you doing to me?"
"You've lost my interest, I'm afraid," Circe replied tersely.
Ty suddenly burst into flames, fire erupting from within him and consuming him whole. The few agonizing seconds felt like hours to him, but in a moment, he was incinerated, and fell to a pile of ashes on the floor.
Circe turned back to the pigs remaining in the room. "Well, now, how will I ever salvage this?"
