After surfing for another hour and a half, Juan decides it is time to transform Jeff back, “time for my turn,” he says to himself as he heads towards the cliff face with the surfboard, which he believes is Jeff, tucked under his arm.
Elsewhere, Jeff is carried towards the parking lot by the blond boy, the former 16-year-old is still shouting and pleading with the blond boy to bring him back to Juan, that he had mistaken him for his board, but the blond boy continues to be unaware and Jeff soon finds himself in the trunk of a metallic blue Mitsubishi XForce, driving out of the parking lot and down the street.
Jeff silently crying to himself, praying that the timer will soon time out and that the blond boy will finally realize his mistake, unaware that Juan had paused the timer.
Back at the beach, Juan arrives at the cliff face and is standing in the small “forest”, the 15-year-old lies the surfboard on the ground and smiles down at it as he grabs his phone, “time to transform you back,” he says to the board, still thinking it to be Jeff, “because I want my go now,” with that Juan clicks on “revert previous transformation”, then waits to see what will happen.
Due to the surfboard looking exactly like Jeff had been, causes the Chronivac to not notice anything wrong, so it simply starts the process of reverting the transformation.
Juan smiles as he watches “Jeff” return back to normal, “I can see his head starting to reform,” he says to himself.
Unaware to Juan, as “Jeff’s” head begins to reform, the surfboard slowly gains a mind, ‘feel… tingly… feel weird,’ it thinks to itself, ‘why… I think? No think… am object,’ the board’s thoughts still sounding nothing like a human, but as more and more of Jeff’s being is merging with the board, it starts to become intelligent.
By now “Jeff’s” head has reformed and Juan’s smile grows, “hey there, Jeff,” he says, “you are slowly starting to look like yourself again”.
“Jeff” looks at the teen in a confused way, but as the memories of the real Jeff start to enter his mind, the surfboard suddenly is aware and understands what has happened. First the transforming object thinks of telling Juan about what has happened, that the real Jeff has been taken by accident, but on the other side, he… it?... doesn’t want to cause Juan to panic, so the surfboard decides to pretend to be “Jeff” until it can fix everything and get the real Jeff back.
When “Jeff” is back to being “himself” he lets Juan help him up, “welcome back, Jeff,” Juan says, “so, how was it being a surfboard?”
“Jeff” looks down at himself, ‘so… this is what it’s like being a human,’ the former object thinks to itself, ‘this is scary… a moment ago I had been a simple and mindless surfboard and now I have the body of this boy’s friend! This… this App is crazy and dangerous! It could do so much damage in the wrong hands!’
Juan’s smile slowly fades and a concerned expression shows on his face, “Jeff, you okay?”
“Jeff” blinks, “y-yeah, sorry Juan,” he says, “I’ve been a surfboard for a while, I am still mentally a “surfboard”, give me a second to sort my mind out”.
Juan smiles, “I see,” he says, “I guess, the longer someone is transformed, the more he or she becomes what ever he or she has transformed into”.
“Jeff” nods, “we should have checked the “mental” option before transforming me into a surfboard”.
Juan nods, “yeah, I’d really would not like to end up not being myself,” he says, “but apart of that: what was it like being a surfboard?”
“It’s been kind of fun,” “Jeff” says, “speeding through the water, I felt so powerful and fast, almost like lightning… hehe!”
Juan chuckles, “from now on I’ll call you, “Lightning”, as a nickname,” he says, “that is if that’s okay for you, Jeff!”
“Jeff” thinks for a while, he then shrugs, “sure, why not,” he says.
Juan smiles, “anyway, I think it’s my go,” he says, “I want to be a surfboard now! Oh, and don’t forget to put your swim shorts back on,” he adds with a grin.
“Jeff” looks down at himself, then his eyes widen and he blushes, quickly covering himself, “s-sorry… I kind of forgot that I was naked!”
Juan laughs, “hey, I don’t mind,” he says, already starting to take off his speedo.
“Jeff” blushes even more when he sees Juan naked, ‘man, Juan sure as a great body,’ the former surfboard thinks to itself, then realizing what it had just thought “Jeff” mentally facepalms himself, ‘GAH! I am… or rather JEFF is NOT gay! Being a human… these thoughts… these feelings… this… THING between my legs… EVERYTHING feels so weird!’
After “Jeff” put his swim shorts on, he takes his phone and scans Juan, “ready,” he then asks.
Juan nods, “just remember to make sure I stay myself mentally,” he says.
“Jeff” nods, he then starts typing into the App, he chooses a surfboard with the design of turquoise water, that appears to have the sun or some other light source highlighting the ripples, for Juan, he then opens the “mental” option and ticks the box which will prevent Juan from mental changes due to being a surfboard, he then confirms the settings.
Juan shivers when he feels his whole body tingle, “okay, yeah… you were right,” he says, “the tingling does feel weird”.
“Jeff” nods, “just so you know: I haven’t set a timer this time,” he then says, “I think it’ll be safer to just transform you back once we, or rather, I am done with you”.
Juan nods, “that’ll be best,” he says, ‘I won’t tell him that I have deleted the timer and transformed him back manually,’ he then thinks to himself.
