You fight the Kobold and you both get into your fighting stances. You have made up your mind and there is no going back now. You will either defeat her or die trying.
You manage to land some hits on her, but she also manages to hit you once as well. “OUCH!” That really hurt. You can’t believe that despite that this is supposed to be virtual reality, the pain feels really REAL.
You manage to land some more blows to her but the first strike drained some of your stamina from you. Whereas you weren’t tired before, you can’t hit her as hard and you get tired more easily. You need to finish this battle quickly or this could be the end for you, and if you manage to survive this battle, you might need to find some medicine to get you patched up so you can have full life and stamina points again.
The Kobold manages to hit you again, now you find it hard to even do some basic things. But you have to keep trying, you are afraid of what will happen if you lose the battle. You manage to land a final blow to the Kobold and you knock her down.
You gained some exp points and some loot. You are about to go on your merry way but the Kobold suddenly speaks up.
“Please, spare me! If you do I’ll give you some good things. I can lead you to a apothecary to get healed, give you more supplies for your long and arduous journey.”
You have conflicted feelings right now. Why would the Kobold offer to help you when she first attacked you? This could be a dirty trick, you have always learned that when an enemy gets desperate they might try a final trick, but the other half of you thinks it would be dishonorable to leave her here to die or to kill her. What if her offer is genuine? Then you would feel horrible if you kill her and miss out on this opportunity.
