With the end of Liliths date and Annie making her way home, things for Death Riot were not settling back into the normal routine. Or as normal as things could be for the supernatural punk band.
"Luca," Jolie called as she hovered a cauldron. "Can you bring me that pouch?"
The werewolf nodded, grabbing the small satchel that he now handed to the necromancer. After thanking the burly werewolf, she dumped its contents inside causing Luca to scrunch up his nose. "Ugh what is that," he grumbled, holding a furry hand over his nose. "Decaying entrails," Jolie replied casually. "I'm working on a summoning potion."
"They stink!"
"Duh," Jolie replied. "I had to take them from mortuary before they embalmed the bodies. Then I have to let then ferment for like a week. It's the only way to get the mixture as potent as possible." Luca could feel his stomach turn, the werewolf turning away before he became sick. "I'm going to see what Set and Bong are doing," he said as Jolie waved him away, completely absorbed in her work. As the werewolf made his way towards the adjoining garage, he wondered just how long the stink of Jolies potion would linger in their kitchen.
As he now glanced inside the garage, he could see both Bong and Set talking. Both mummy and vampire seemed to have taken a break from whatever they were upto. Approaching, he could hear them now talking of Lilith. "What's up," he called. Bong and Set simply nodded, raising an eyebrow as the werewolf approached. "Did you really burst through the wall," Set asked. "With a chainsaw?!"
"Actually the chainsaw was before I burst through the wall," Luca replied sheepishly, the werewolf rubbing the back of his hairy neck. Set sighed, smacking him upside his lupine head, before chuckling. "Wish I thought of that," she said. "I was thinking of placing a curse on Annie if she broke Liliths heart."
"You know you two are ridiculous," Bobg sighed. "Let the kid learn. No date ever goes perfectly. Hell, you learn more from the shitty dates than the good ones." Both Luca and Set now raised an eyebrow, the mummy furrowing her brow as she glared at the vampire. "Oh really," she smirked. "Who was the one that cleaned the apartment AND had me babysit Jolie so she wouldn't be hanging around. In fact, who's idea was it to kick everyone out so Lilith could have some privacy?" Bong blushed, the vampire looking flustered at her friends accusations. "I was trying to take a nap that's all," she said quickly. "And the place was starting to look trashed from Jolies potion makings." Set shook her head, a coy smile spreading across her face as she now spoke.
"Whatever you say Bong-cha. Just admit you like the kid."
Bong sulked, not wanting to say anything. The last thing she wanted to do was admit she liked the goth human. "Where is Lilith anyway," she asked, looking to change the subject. "One of her magical girl group friends showed up looking for her," Luca stated. "Said there's was something important she needed her help with." As Bong looked to respond, she paused as a guttural scream now pierced the night.
"What the hell was that," Set asked in confusion. Werewolf, vampire, and mummy's now listened. The sounds of screams echoed through the grounds of the park. The screaming was distant but rapidly approaching. Intermixed with those screams was another sound that made the three supernatural entities shudder. They had never heard anything like it before. An otherworldly and deep roar like some sort of whale song that chilled their very bones. None of them had ever heard another like it before. Whatever it was, it was getting closer.
The trio now screamed as a body crashed through the wall of the garage. Jumping in alarm, they took a moment to study it before wincing in disgust. The body had been an anthro cheetah woman but its body was mangled. The womans head was crushed, her eyes dangling from the eye sockets, her arms twisted and broken, while her yellow fur was matted with blood. "The fuck," Bong said in disgust. Once more the ungodly scream echoed around them, much closer this time. Nervously glancing towards the hole the cheetah woman had crashed through, they now saw where the noise was coming from.
The creature before them was difficult to describe. It was a hulking, humanoid mass, its muscles seeming straining its greying skin. Completely nude, it had no identifying sexual organs, being completely androgynous. The face though was horrifying, blank with the exception of two glowing and ragged eye holes and a mouth filled with jagged teeth. The creature now bellowed at the trio before charging.
Luca now sprinted into action, wrestling with this monstrosity. The werewolf was shocked at the creatures strength as he tried to push it back. Set now cast a spell, summoning forth an emaciated Anubis warrior to help Luca. The emaciated jackal headed warrior now assisted Luca in tossing the creature outside and into an adjoining building. "What is that thing," Bong exclaimed. No one had an answer, the trio watching as their attacker now freed itself from the rubble as it looked to attack once more.
Instead of attacking though, the creature now found itself Set upon by a large and familiar look zebra demon. Bong gaped as Bob the zebra demon grasped the creature by its arms before ripping it in two. "Bob," she asked. "What the hell is going on?!"
"We are under attack," Bob growled, the anthro demon now stomping on the remains of the creature with his massive hooves. "Voids are overrunning the park!"
"Voids," Set asked, confused. "I've never heard of Voids. What are they?"
"Mindless creatures," Bob replied, Bong noticing a nervousness in its tenor. How dangerous were these things that they would worry a demon? "Can they be killed," Bong asked. Bob nodded, it was hard but the creatures could be stopped. "Luca grab Jolie and a bunch of weapons," Bong said quickly. "Set, you and Bob are coming with me. The five of us are going Void hunting."
