No owner? That shouldn't be possible, but it does provide a good enough alibi for you to recover from that night. As you soon enough make your way towards one of the closest rooms, the living room. And for an abandoned mansion, the sight was a shock.
While a bit dusty, the furniture looked surprisingly modern! From a large obsidian slab with intricate carvings to act as a high-class coffee table with some warmly lit candles, to three well maintained and soft looking couches with accents made from darkened cherry (you swear it even looks like they could recline! And were those cup-holders too at the ends?), still living roses and violets in boxy pots on top of wooden drawers with all sorts of compartments. And on the walls, besides some nifty looking paintings (both abstract and literal), you could also make out that facing them, was a large wide-screen TV! One with shelves besides it, filled to the brim with movies, games, consoles, disk players, VHS players and some speakers screwed in to them!
And above you was a a large chandelier, glittering a bit from the lit candle. Steadily spinning around and reflecting out the dim light...
This seemed like a good place to rest for a bit. If the power is still on too, then that would be cool. And so, you make your way to one of the couches, adjust some cushions and pillows on it, take off your shoes and then lie down. You're just resting your body, not sleeping.
Just trying to rest...
You didn't know when you fell asleep.
