Jeff laid in his king-size bed and thought about the events of the last 2 weeks. He had left his country for the opportunity to make some quick money, but now he wasn't really sure if he could help Cleo reach her goal. Jeff let out a sigh to relieve his frustration. He had to admit that she was a bit crazy and he wasn't really sure what would happen if he failed in his mission. She certainly had the means to ruin the rest of his life, but on the other hand, the two of them had grown closer during the past few days and they had almost rekindled their friendship.
He thought of both a plan to train her, and a way to sneak out and excuse himself from an unpleasant situation. He was interrupted from his thoughts by a humming sound coming from his suitcase. He got up and opened the case. To his surprise, he was greeted by the glowing display of the Chronivac. He had almost forgotten about the device and was a little confused as to why it had suddenly awakened. But maybe it could help him in his desperate situation.
He grabbed the device and slowly walked back to his bed. He stared at the screen and almost knocked over the carpet, not paying attention to where he stepped. Excited, he jumped up on the bed and began to scroll through the pages of the strange device. The tabs of the Evolution package were still loaded. Happy about the wink of fate, or karma, or whatever, he was pretty sure he had the solution to his problem in his hands. Maybe to all problems...
Since he had already proven that the Chronivac worked, he was just trying to figure out how it could help him with Cleo. But the evolution package seemed to be the best option. He was pretty sure he could change physical characteristics directly, but that might raise some questions. But just speeding up a natural process might be a good option. Without further hesitation, he began to enter and alter some parameters:
* Real time duration: 1 week
* Evolution target duration: 30 years
He thought that 10 years might be a good time frame to train her and get her in shape. But since they can't train all day, he multiplied that value by 3, so 8 hours of training a day would result in a full 10 years of training in the next week.
* Environmental influence: 200%
* Random influence: 10%
He was not really sure what those factors meant, but he assumed that the first one defined how much the environment affected the development process, and the second one defined the probability of some unidentified effects. He found this a bit risky, but the device prevented him from setting it to zero. So he had to live with at least a 10% risk or evolve her in some random direction. But he also remembered that it was important for big evolutionary steps that some random things happen.
He was a bit shocked when he looked at his watch. It was almost 1 am. Training would start tomorrow at 6am. He quickly shut down the device and tried to sleep, but his thoughts were circling around the possible outcome of the next week of training...
