With the added influence of her instincts, Derrick responded to the male and the two animals mated as Circe watched. She chuckled and shook her head as the female's eyes lost intelligence, the thoughts of a female bear now firmly in place. The boy was certainly leaving a legacy. He wouldn't know the male mounting her was her own cub now fully grown, not that it mattered. She was a different female than before, and animal instincts and memories were much stronger this time. The bear might not come back.
Derrick followed the male after mating, mostly because she felt more comfortable in the woods. She veered off after they got into the trees, snuffling around for a good place to create a den. Although she was not aware of any difference, Derrick was fully a beast in mind and body without any memory of being human. The she-bear foraged for food, built a nest, and existed as life grew within her. When the time came, many months later, she gave birth to triplets - two females and a male.
It took many months more for her offspring to mature and eventually go off on their own. Although she still found herself lumbering to Circe's villa, it was out of curiosity rather than any knowledge of her past.
