As Dave was brought up to Jenny and the guard asked if she needed him to stay she hoped that she would say no so she would have less in the way of getting the pen back.
When Jenny said "No I don't think Little Miss Melons is going to give us any trouble. Are you, sweety?," Dave was glade.
