As she arrived at the lab, which was located in the basement of Dr. Curtis' house, Jamie took a deep breath and prepared herself for the day ahead. However, as she entered the lab, Jamie noticed that it was a mess. It looked as if a child had been playing around in there. She let out a sigh and started to clean up the debris. As she was organizing the workstations, Jamie noticed something strange on one of the tables.
She knew that Wanda had been working on something big lately, and she was excited to see what it was. However, to her surprise, there was only a small item on the table – a watch of some kind. Picking it up, she noticed it was an ordinary watch, but it has the time on the top and the date in the bottom. Jamie was a little confused at first, but at least she likes the watch and put it on. Looking at it herself, she wondered what Wanda was doing with this watch. Looking back at the table, she could see the there is a note where the watch was sitting on. Picking it up, she could tell that it was Wanda's writing as it says...
'Jamie,
If you are reading this, then you have in possession of a special prototype I've been working on for a long time. It is called the Time Travel Watch. Now the name does sound cheesy, but this watch does what the title states, can take back back or forward in time.
Here are the instructions on how it works.
You can see the time and date on the front. On the side are three buttons. The up and down buttons and the select button. With the up and down bottoms you can turn the time and dates backwards or forwards to the time and date you wish to partake in. Then by hitting the select button your body and the world around you will go to the specific time and date and you will live there until you are ready to go back to today or go to another time period.
Don't worry about yourself. The watch will alter your clothing, body, and mannerisms to match that of a certain time period. Say for example that you wish to visit Feudal Japan, your body and clothes will turn into a Geisha woman completely with Japanese language. Or if you want to see what life is like in the Victorian era, you will change into a Victorian woman. Or if you decide to go to the future, your body will become a future/evolved version of yourself or an android, or something behind human. The possibilities are endless.
Now before you can use the watch, a few warnings I need to share. If you go back to the past, be careful with who you will talk to or what you do. Just one slight incident can alter the fabric of time and space. And when you return to the present, it would change that fits what you did in the past. Be careful on what you do. Also, there's a a limit in going to the past is you go the the point before life was created, or the Big Bang, you won't survive or something else strange will happen. The same goes with the future as well as we don't know what the future will be like if you go too far. So please, be cautious if you wish to go to those points in time. And no matter what you do, do NOT damage the watch. This is a prototype of course, and if you damage it in any way, not only will you be stuck in the past or future, but your memories of your present will be erased and replaced with memories of a certain time period you decide to go on. So please, take good care of it.
That's all. Just go to various points of the past and future and return to the present to write about your findings. Take all the time you need as time is pretty much a commodity. You will be paid well when you return with your report. Hope to see you soon.
Dr. Wanda Curtis'
Jamie looked to the notes and find it all hard to believe. A watch that can take her through different time periods, be that past or future. That seems too good to be true. But from what she was reading on the notes, Wanda must've wanted to see if it would work or not. So with that, she looked to the watch that has the current time and date and smirked, ready to take this watch for a spin. The main question is, where or when should she go?
