Rosie stared at the positive pregnancy test in her hand. Three days ago, she had first suspected she was pregnant, but she wanted to be sure. Luckily, Marcia decided to make a very big poop while they were at the store the day before, providing Rosie the distraction needed to toss the test into the cart without it being seen. She didn't want Marcia to know. Not yet. But there was someone who certainly did need to know...
Lewis poked his head into the bathroom.
"Marcia is finally down for her nap," he said. "She wanted her mommy's milk from the source, but I managed to convince her the pumped stuff in a bottle was good enough."
"You are a miracle worker with her," Rosie sighed. Lewis walked over and kissed her on the cheek. "Lewis, I have something to tell you..."
"Does it have to do with the positive pregnancy test you're holding?" Lewis asked. Rosie smiled ruefully and nodded. "Are you...happy to be pregnant?"
"Happy...and scared. I didn't give birth to Marcia. I don't know how any of this works!"
"Well, I will be there to help." Lewis ran his fingers through Rosie's hair. "And I am thrilled. Sweet little Marcia will be getting a baby brother or sister from us." Lewis kissed Rosie deeply. Rosie fell into the kiss happily. It had gone better than she expected! Though telling Marcia was no doubt going to be bumpier. She had a feeling Marcia wanted to remain an only child and wouldn't be happy about her mommy splitting her attention with another child.
"Oh, you came over for something," Rosie said once they finally finished the kiss. "On the phone, that was what you said. What was it?"
