Ralph came into work a little late the next day. He had once again plaged by nightmares though these weren't as intense and his shoulder was still bugging him.
It wasn't long before Newt came over with the enlarged photos and placed them on his desk.
"Here they are. I don't know how much good they'll do you but it's better than nothing."
"I'm sure I'll find something." Ralph said picking them up.
He studied them for a minute before something caught his eye.
"Look at this." He said placing them in front of Newt. "Notice anything odd about the footprints?"
"No not really. Why?" He responded looking closely.
"Look at how they're spaced. It's almost like whatever this was had bipedal capabilities." Ralph said pointing out the distance between prints to Newt.
"Huh, that's odd. I can't believe I didn't see that before." Newt said. "There's another pawprint on the wall, it almost looks like a hand. What do you think could have done this?"
"Don't jump overboard. It was probably just set up that way by the culprits to make it look like a giant bipedal wolf was there and they planted the camera under the leaves so that we could find it."
"Are you sure?"
"Not completely but it would explain why no one was able to find it before now even if it was buried."
"I guess that makes sense."
"I need to check out these pictures for now, see if I can't find any evidence that points out a suspect. Has anyone gone around questioning the families and friends? I know all the neighbors have been, but I think it's important to get all the information we can."
"We've been recording all the information they can give us for days now. We should be done soon."
"Yeah, I guess I should have known that. You can go back to what you were doing. I need some time to study these pictures."
Newt walked off and Ralph went back to what he was doing. He was trying to act cool but something was definitely off about this case and he had a feeling it was closer to home than he had originally thought.
