The second Laura stands up, one of the workers in the office daycare grabs her hand.
"All done?" the worker, a girl named Lacey, asks. Wordlessly, Laura nods. "Good!" Lacey leads Laura over to a group of other toddlers. Laura looks around anxiously, but there's no way to escape. She'll be caught right away if she makes a break for it. There are adults all around. The remaining toddlers are brought over.
"Okay, everyone, hold hands!" says the woman in charge of the daycare, Brenda. Reluctantly, Laura holds hands with two other toddlers. In a long chain, they walk back to the office building, which is, to Laura's surprise, just a block away. She really didn't get very far, despite the misadventures she's been through since she first rolled the dice.
The toddlers are ushered into the office daycare on the first floor of the building. Lacey goes down the line checking diapers and training pants. Laura silently prays that she's still dry. Lacey sticks a finger down the back of her training pants.
"Dry!" Laura sighs in relief.
The toddlers that need to be changed are whisked away, while the others are left in the play area. Laura looks around her surroundings. She can't stay too long without someone realizing she shouldn't be there. Also, she needs to get moving again to reach the magic shop.
