10-year-old Norman Davis is sitting in his room with his friend Brian O’Neal who is 11, both boys have athletic bodies, due to their many sports activities, like parkour, soccer, basketball, tennis, climbing and many more. Brian has blond hair with an undercut-style, while Norman has short black hair but with an undercut-style too. Norman has an olive skin tone, due to his mother being from Spain, while his dad is from the US, Brian has a pale but healthy skin tone, just like any average white person, while Brian has blue eyes, Norman’s are a dark brown.
Currently both boys are playing Mario Cart on Norman’s Nintendo, until Brian lets out a groan, “I’m getting bored,” he says, “can we do something else?”
“Like what,” Norman asks.
“Dunno,” Brian replies, shrugging, “usually, YOU are the one with the ideas!”
Norman thinks for a while, he then remembers the book on hypnosis he had bought for a Dollar at a flea market a few days ago. The 10-year-old has somehow always been interested in magical stuff, like hypnosis and especially transformations, like humans being transformed into animals. Looking over at Brian, Norman gets an idea, ‘I doubt it will work, but it’d be cool if it did,’ he thinks to himself, ‘hehe… the thought of having Brian act like a little doggy would be sooooo hilarious!’
Brian notices Norman staring at him, “what,” he asks, tilting his head, “do I have something on my nose?”
“Oh, sorry,” Norman says, “I was just wondering, I bought this book last weekend on a flea-market. The book is about hypnosis, and… well… I’d kinda like to see IF it is possible to really hypnotize someone”.
Brian snorts, “you really DON’T believe that small kid’s crap,” he asks.
“NO! But… what if it works,” Norman asks, “we could have so much fun?”
“Like what?”
“Well… we could hypnotize my dumb big brother to act like a little kid or a baby”.
Brian grins, “hehe… or have him act like some animal!”
Norman nods and grins, “yeah, but… to see if it really works,” he says, “one of us has to be the “test-subject”. Since it’s my book… w-would you…,” the 10-year-old trails off.
Brian thinks for a while, he then shrugs, “okay… I doubt that it’ll work anyway,” he says, “hypnosis is not real after all”.
What neither of them are aware of, one of Norman’s ancestors had been a powerful sorcerer, and as Norman gets to his feet to get the book, that sorcerer’s power begins to awaken deep inside of the young boy.
As Norman reaches out to grab the book from the shelves, he notices that his body seems to feel a lot warmer than before, and a weird tingling, like pins-and-needles, sensations runs through his body. The 10-year-old just mentally shrugs and thinks nothing of it as he takes the book and walks back to his friend.
“So, what am I supposed to do,” Brian asks.
“Sit on the edge of my bed opposite me,” Norman says as he takes a seat on his chair in front of his desk. Once Brian is seated, Norman flips open the book, “okay, it says here that the “subject” must relax his or her body and clear his or her mind of any thoughts”.
“Okay,” Brian says, the boy takes a few deep breaths, closing his eyes and after a while he manages to clear his mind and relax his body, “okay… I think I’m ready,” he then says, opening his eyes.
Norman nods, he then positions himself directly in front of Brian so that their gazes meet, “okay, now, look into my eyes and only concentrate on my voice,” Norman says.
When Brian does as told, staring into his friend’s eyes, he notices something weird, Norman’s usually dark brown eyes seem to change as the boy’s eyes seem to start to glow, at the same time, Brian feel the urge to continue to stare into his friend’s eyes. The 11-year-old tries to turn his head to look away, but he finds himself unable to, “N-Norman… I… I feel w-weird,” he says, feeling his body starting to go numb and he also starts to realize that it is getting harder and harder to think straight.
Meanwhile, Norman himself feels weird, the second he had locked eyes with Brian, the 10-year-old felt his eyes become warmer and warmer, but not painful warm. As he continues to stare into Brian’s eyes, he notices his friend’s eyes starting to seemingly to glow white and he too finds himself unable to look away. As if out of instinct, Norman says, “relax… concentrate on my voice,” his voice seeming to sound more like an echo, “feel your body go numb as you lose all control over it… feel as your mind becomes empty, all those silly thoughts just pouring out of you, like water. Feel yourself slip deeper and deeper into a trance… into pure relaxation… no more worries, no more thoughts, no more problems, just pure relaxation!”
“N-Norman,” Brian mumbles, his voice sounding weak, “st-stop… s-something… something’s wrong!”
But Norman instead continues to talk in that creepy, quiet and calming voice, “don’t worry, Brian,” he says, “nothing bad is happening to you… it feels so good… to let go… to give all control over to me!”
The more Norman talks the weaker Brian feels himself becoming, he tries with all hismight to break the eye contact, but it is as if his body is not obeying his commands, ‘wh-what is happening to me,’ he asks himself, ‘I… I’m scared!’
Norman is suddenly hit with new knowledge, his glowing eyes widen in shock, but then his expression becomes somewhat… evil: his eyes narrow and a creepy grin appears on the young boy’s face, “well, well,” he says, “who knew! Hehe… looks like magic is real after all!”
By now Brian has fallen silent, a blank look on his face and his body slumped as his eyes continue to glow white.
Norman smirks, “good boy,” he says, the 10-year-old is a little confused as to why he suddenly feels so mean… so dominant… so evil… so… so… POWERFUL! He is sure of one thing though: he totally LOVES his new personality! Having the power over someone feels so amazing! Now, with Brian under his control, the possibilities of what he could do to his friend are endless. The 10-year-old’s mind, which has succumbed to the dark magic which had been awaken inside of him, corrupting him, swirls with ideas of what he could do to his helpless friend.
