“MechTech” is a well known large company that design new and state-of-the-art anything mechanical and technical, like Drones, Vehicles, Weapons and even humanoid Robots.
What the people are unaware of, is that this company does top secret work for the government, to not raise suspicion, the company also designs things which they then sell to the public, while they continue working in secret on “special” assignments.
One of those “special” assignments currently is to develop a new Robot, one that looks more human than machine, with a mind of its own while still able to control.
The scientists just finished the prototype, which they named simply “Proto”, at first everything seems to go as planned, but one day “Proto” starts to show signs of trying to do things differently than his programming. The scientists decided to shut the robot down and store it away, until they could find a way to solve the issue, so after they managed to shut the Robot down, one of the assistants took the machine to a “staff only” room located in the basement of the large facility. Once the Robot is put in its place in the storage, the assistant hangs a sign around the neck of “Proto” which says “Out of order! Do not touch!”
By the way, “Proto” does not look like an ordinary Robot, instead of metal, the Robot has realistic looking skin made of soft silicone, the color of its “skin” is a light brown, like Hispanic people have. It has short brown hair, its body looks like an athletic 16-year-old teenager and its eyes, which are made of glass, have a nice light blue, which glow when “Proto” is powered on, now though the eyes aren’t glowing, since the machine is powered down.
The assistant turns and walks out of the room, turning of the light, and without a last glance over at the Robot, he closes the door and locks it, then simply heads back to the lab.
A few months pass and “Proto” is still standing motionless in the storage unit, after many attempts to fix the issue, the scientists simply decided to cancel the project and after discussing everything with their clients, who agreed that it might be still to early to go that far trying to create a self-thinking machine, that it was to risky, they simply forgot about the Robot.
You would think that, anyone who enters the storage would notice the Robot, but no one does, since the location, where the assistant had put the machine, is not in direct eyesight: the door of the room opens inwards, and the Robot simply is obscured behind the door, so no one sees it.
A year passes, until on a warm day in June, the company decides to allow students to visit the lab, so a few days later, on a warm Monday morning, the company is bombarded with hundreds of curious students: two elementary classes, with kids between 5 and 11, with 23 students in each class, and three junior high school classes with students between 12 and 15 with 20 students in each class, and one high school class with students between 16 and 18 with 21 students in the class.
The classes each are greeted by a tour guide and after receiving some information and rules the groups start spreading as they begin the tours.
