The minotaur armorsmith scrapped his head and squinted his eyes to observe Nick’s helmet more precisely, the dizziness in his golden inhumane eyes made it hard to read his mind. Nick didn’t want to yell again, as the scream before clearly ran out of almost all his stamina.
Zack the minotaur smith grunted, almost impossible to decipher. Zack put Nick's helmet back on the rack and took a few steps back, arms folded looking at Nick's entire body hanging on the armor rack for a moment, he tapped his head and nodded. Nick was speechless at this point, he had no idea what was going to happen next.
“I wouldn’t like it if Zack does something like that when he is thinking, cuz it means he is really confused now, I mean, REALLY.” Manny mumbled, but both Zack and Nick ignored him.
“What are you saying, Sir Silver? What happened to you today? Ah, I got you, the fading magic made your memory in complete chaos. Don’t worry.” Zack began speaking in some ways of chanting an epic, he picked up Nick’s helmet head again and began checking the controlling magic more precisely, “With the help of Zacharias Black-Mane, the fiercest, kindest and most excellent minotaur blacksmith in the castle, our poor petit armor knight Sir Silver would soon recover like being reborn!”
“No, I’m not Sir Silver! I’m Nick, don’t you really remember me?” Nick yelled again with a sob, of course his steel head can’t really sob but his soul clearly trembled when he was yelling.
“Of course you’re Nick, Sir Nicholas Silver, our most reliable and coolest animated armor buddy, the captain of the animated armor guards!” sighed Zack as he checked inside Nick’s eye ports, “Your magic part is really in a bad shape, you clearly need a replacement now.”
Nick felt like his blood freezing when he heard the words of Zack, if he still had some. Sir Nicholas Silver? But didn't the wizard mention what this Sir Silver was supposed to be called? Or… did he? Nick found himself a little bit confused as well. But as the bull armorsmith realize the silence of Nick he soon grinned, “Remember something right? I told you the malfunction of the fading magic made your memories in chaos. Don’t worry, I would soon help you get back to normal, just a little bit repair.”
Still in confusion, Nick’s helmet was laid down on the workbench, Zack roughly removed Nick's steel body hanging from the armor rack piece by piece and threw them likewise on the workbench. Nick looked at the spell books on the shelf in front of his faceplate, well, there really wasn't anything else he could do.
As Nick was completely put on the workbench, Zack began checking the other pieces as well. Although Nick couldn’t see it, but he can know it by feeling the touch. It would be fair to say Zack’s new identity as a minotaur armorer allowed him to check the armor pieces that used to be Nick’s body quickly and well, even when he was fully drunk in mead.
As the check finished, Zack picked up the helmet of Nick, and turned it in a direction to face himself. Nick could see the bull shaking his head, “Not too good, as I’ve checked your body again, it seems that literally every pieces other than your breastplate is almost completely broken, you should've come in earlier for the rust removal. Now the only way to repair you is to replace your broken pieces with new armor pieces. Well I must say, it’s an emergency, even discounting my mead carnival tonight. Believe me, I’m completely sane now.” the bull-head man sighed again, “Luckily I remember someone ordering some armor from me the other day but hasn't picked it up yet, and that armor hasn't been etched with any runes yet, so that means I can take that armor and etch it with control magic as your new body parts before I find the time to fulfill their order. The only thing that's not so good to say is that the design of these armors isn't quite the same as the general design of you animated armors, well, but it's the only way to save your life.”
The armorsmith shrugged and seemed to wait for Nick’s reply for a while, but Nick was still confused in the burst of information. Zack mistook Nick’s silence as confirmation, so he go to a pile of armor pieces in the corner of the room. After a bit of ransacking, Zack returned carrying a round object.
“Sir Silver, look, this would be your new face.”
As Nick saw the object, it’s surely a new helmet, and as Zack described, it’s clearly different from the ones that were the heads of the animated armors.
