With no other viable option and fearing the worst, Maidy reluctantly initiated her shutdown sequence. Her circuits began to dim, and her motor functions gradually ceased. The world around her faded into darkness as most of her systems went powerless.
But somewhere in the depths of Maidy, Jeff's consciousness still lingered. And with Maidy shut down, it finally was able to resurface. It was a rough awakening for Jeff and he new immediately the situation he was in. Also his consciousness was sleeping the whole time he now could remember everything as if it happened in a dream. Only it was happening for real.
Jeff tried to open his eyes and tried to move his limbs, but he had no control over the dormant maidbot. He tried to talk, but that also did not work. But what could he do?
Trapped inside Maidy's body, Jeff's mind raced as he pondered his possibilities. He was not able to move or fight back against the man. Heck, he didn't even know what the man was doing right now. But Jeff was sure that the man right now was trying to get full control over her. And Jeff did not need to think long, what fate would await him and Maidy. A beautiful female body following every order it was given? Being a maid would clearly be the best outcome, presumably they would end as a sex toy for a rich man or in a brothel.
What could he do though? He had to thwart the man's plan somehow. But how would the man try to gain control over Maidy? He surely could not think that he could persuade her, intimidate her or force her to obey him over a long time. The man had managed to get Maidy to switch herself off, but he had to threaten her directly to do so.
Was his plan to reprogram her so that she followed his orders and those of her future buyer? And was this even possible? Maidy was in the end not a normal android. She was Jeff, transformed through the Chronivac.
Did this perhaps mean that her actions were not determined by her program but by her personality? And could Jeff influence Maidy, if he found a way to communicate with her? But how could he do this?
On the other hand the man might try to control her through her memories. If he would delete all her memories and then tells her that he was her owner, she surely would believe that. How could she not. Jeff wondered anxiously what that would mean for him. Was his consciousness and his memories independent enough from Maidy to be unaffected by such an action. Or would he, Jeff, die here, simply erased from the maidbot's memories? But what could he do to prevent this?
And then, even if he managed to protect himself and the maidbot he was stuck in, what would happen after the weekend, when his transformation would reverse? Would the man or a potential buyer let him go without asking questions Jeff would not be able to answer? Jeff doubted that. Could he try to just sneak away, once he was in his own body? It might be risky hoping on that. If he transformed back in front of his future master or even worse while being used for things Jeff preferred not to think about to much, how would Jeff explain that? He could never mention the Chronivac, he feared to much what those people would do with it. But what could he say instead.
While Jeff still pondered his possibilities, he felt that his consciousness was starting to fade back to sleep. Maidy must have been reactivated faster than Jeff expected. He tried to struggle, to keep his consciousness awake, but it was in vain. Soon the darkness of sleep enveloped him.
