With Geshp distracting his sister, Aoloa now made her way through the ventilation system of the Normals HQ. Despite her apprehension at the idea of a demon fighting a guardian angel, the Spymistress realized the mission was more important. If the Normal were to be stopped, Aoloa needed to find Dr. Eastly and Ivy.
"Just wish I knew where they were," Aoloa said softly. The ventilation system was proving to be a maze. The ducts of this building twisted and turned with no discernable entrance or exit. As she continued, she wondered just how deeply she would need to travel to find her intended target. As she sailed around a corner, she gasped as someone collided with her. "Cryatal are you okay?"
Aoloa grunted, rubbing the sore spot on her head. The last thing she expected was to physically run into someone inside the vents, let alone two judging by the voices. Blinking and rubbing her eyes, the fairys vision slowly began to clear as she beheld two teenagers. One of them was a teenage girl, perhaps 15 or 16 years old. This girl had long dirty blonde hair, crystal blue eyes and a pair of gossamer wings. Aoloa immediately realized this girl was a fairy, albeit one who looked quite human. While not unheard of, fairys that resembled humans was unique. Still, it was the teenage boy that accompanied her that truely surprised the fairy.
The boy was also around 15 or 16. Just looking at him told Aoloa he was human, just shrunk down to fairy size. Studying the teenager quickly, Aoloa tried to place his face. He was a wizard, that much she could tell but who was he? "Who are you," she asked, still rubbing the sore spot on her head. "What are you doing here?"
"My names Darren," he said and now Aoloa noticed the pair of rings the boy had on his hand as well as the glowing katana. Aoloa’s eyes went wide in surprise, she recognized that blade. "The Dragons Tongue," she asked breathlessly. "How...how do you have the sacred blade of the kitsune?!"
"I'm the protector of the kitsune," Darren stammered. "This blade was given to me by Tatsu. Now who are you?"
"Aoloa," she said. "Spymistress of the fae and an agent of S.P.E.A.R."
Darren raised an eyebrow, lowering his blade as he curiously looked at the blue fairy. "The fae's Spymistress," he asked. "And an agent of S.P.E.A.R? What are you doing here?" Aoloa dusted herself off, useing her wings to now float before the teen. "Thats classified. Now, what are you two doing here?" As Darren looked to reply, it was Crystal who now flew to meet Aoloa, staring the fairy in the eye. "Look we're on the same side okay," she said. "There's no reason for all the secret stuff. We came to find a scientist by the name of Dr. Ivy."
"Dr. Ivy," Aoloa replied in alarm. "What do you want with Dr. Ivy?"
"We came to rescue him," Darren stated. "One of his creations helped free a friend of mine. I made a promise to help get him out of here and away from the Normal." Aoloa nodded, it seemed the pair were working towards a common goal. Still, she wasn't trying to free the doctor. "We seem to have a common goal," she said softly. "However, my orders are to capture Dr. Ivy and return him to S.P.E.A.R for interrogation. He may have vital information on the Normal."
Darren's eyes began to glow, a stern look on the teens face as he stared at the fairy. "If you want to talk to Ivy fine but I made a promise to bring him back. I'm not going to just turn him over. I think he maybe a prisoner here" Aoloa gawked, a prisoner? Dr. Ivy was no prisoner, he was one of the Normals top scientists. He wasn't innocent in all of this, he needed to answer for his crimes. "I don't think you understand," Aoloa exclaimed. "Dr. Ivy has contributed to the deaths of so many innocents. He needs to be held accountable. Do you know what the Normal have done?"
"Better than most," Darren grumbled. "The Normal have been trying to kill me ever since they learned I was the Catalyst."
"Wait YOU'RE the Catalyst?!"
Darren nodded, Aoloa looking between the two teenagers. She knew all to well the legend of the Catalyst. She just never expected him to be so young. Turning to Crystal, the fairy now raised an eyebrow. "And I assume you'll be helping him," she said. "Even if it means going against your own people?"
"Darren is a friend and I trust him," Crystal stated. Aoloa sighed, arguing with these two would accomplish nothing. At this point her best bet was to work with then and acquire Dr. Ivy. After they escaped, she could get in touch with S.P.E.A.R to see how they wished to proceed. "So be it," she sighed. "Considering the danger in trying to get Ivy, I could use the help."
Agreeing to work together, the trio now maneuvered their way through the ventilation system. While Aoloa was thankful for the backup, the mission was far from assured, even with a Catalyst. All she could hope for now was that no one would lose their life in this operation.
