Whenever one thinks or more likely visits any shop specializing in the selling of clothing regardless of it being the latest trends or showing of the basics of how an outfit set is meant to look by design. Then when doing so it always involves Mannequins, figurines human-shaped acting as displays first created in the 15th century in base form until in 19th century France that fully started the genderised design and forms, first with paper-mâché until Wax became the default material…
…switching to plaster in the 1920s for durability…
…but upon the ending days of the 20th century and working through the 21st design became spilt between the rare and expensive fiberglass for specialized private displays or the common plastic for general all-round displays.
At least until plastic became excessively harder to procure with its core ingredient oil itself becoming rare to obtain and even more to work with over the growing ecological protection and what plastic remained being secured more for long-term storage jobs over contently changing displays within store windows.
Thankfully many a clothing or fashion store were approached to a partnership by the Magic Shop (Something itself an oddity in stores sponsoring stores) that could both end this shortage and the job shortage. This being the magic shop, this was the efforts of turning willing participants into Mannequins for periods of time. Now due to how this worked these mannequins could use poses not usually used from the limitations imposed by the hard materials but the participant needed to be making said pose upon the transformation.
There are also a selection of rules stores signed up for these transformed Mannequins must follow;
1) Clothing the Mannequin is assigned to wear is to never be taken of to be sold until their period is over.
2) No permanent transformations. In the eyes of the Magic Shop and Law these ‘Mannequins’ are still people and have human rights.
3) While the Mannequins are classified as employees of the store ‘using’ them the magic shop has the right to monitor them for health and safety.
Also be aware that contrary to appearances people turned into Mannequins are fully aware and can both see and hear everything around them and also age even though while solid they don’t require food or drinks to sustain themselves. Regardless overall so long as all parties follow through this process and working has benefitted businesses greatly:
